Mia Wasikowska In Chanel Couture – ‘Madame Bovary’ London Film Festival Screening

Mia Wasikowska In Chanel Couture - 'Madame Bovary' London Film Festival Screening

Mia Wasikowska joined Laura Carmichael on the red carpet for the screening of ‘Madame Bovary’ during the 58th BFI London Film Festival held at Odeon West End on Saturday (October 11) in London, England.

Usually I reserve my rights to judge any Chanel runway look until I see it on the red carpet, as the red carpet look is usually much more preferable; sadly, that is not the case on this occasion.

Mia breathes no life into this metallic-silver Chanel Spring 2014 Couture futuristic-style dress which creates the illusion of a tiny waist.

I don’t even feel the black pumps are to blame here; perhaps it’s the hair and makeup bringing down the look, or that she simply lacks presence.

Does this look work for you?

She looks as usual so stiff! The dress is interesting, but not in her. She bores me to death.

Awful shoes and she looks washed out.

I adore this dress but she is just the WRONG person to pull it off. Zero pizzazz and the shoes are awful.

What stylist would choose a difficult dress for a difficult client? Diane Kruger or Keira Knightley would’ve killed this, but Mia has never shown enough style, poise or personality for this type of look, not to mention the horrid styling.

meh. But thats what i usually say about her style.

that top part kinda looks like a pillow wrapped around her…

Awful. Mia’s stylist is Ryan Hastings, who is only good with Robert Pattinson. He ruined the style of Carey Mulligan.

We’ve seen this type of dress from Keira so it loses it specialness for that reason. The dress doesn’t work on her and the shoes don’t belong with this dress.

Not a good look. Her style is more miss than hits

It’s the top for me. I like the silhouette and the skirt, but the top feels heavy and too spaced-out for her red carpet persona.

    Boring.

I even don’t know what to say.It looks like one of those uniforms of people who live in a compound in a sci-fi movie…It goes with the tennis shoes to complete the uniform.

I don’t mind it but it’s not my favorite on her. She would do better in Valentino or De La Renta. Laura’s Erdem dress however is fab!

As usual, she drains all the personality out of this piece. To be fair, it’s not great to begin with. It’s like the couture version of the Tinman’s costume.

Yeah I don’t like this look either. It’s too matronly for her, it really ages her a lot… and clearly the black pumps don’t help in that case.

I’m inclined to blame the black pumps. They are plain random and have nothing to do with the dress. With the right footwear, it would’ve been an acceptable look.
