Jessie J In Vintage Jean Paul Gaultier – 2014 GQ Men of the Year Awards

Jessie J In Vintage Jean Paul Gaultier - 2014 GQ Men of the Year Awards

What with all the daring necklines, thigh-high slits and sheerness going on at the GQ Men of the Year Awards held at The Royal Opera House on Tuesday (September 2) in London, England, Jessie J fitted right in on this red carpet.

The British singer, who has been taking the US by storm, was oozing sex appeal wearing a vintage Jean Paul Gaultier emerald-green gown with a draped plunging neckline and slit to the hip bone.

I’m not always a fan of her looks, finding her frustratingly inconsistent at times, but I love the sultry, not-try-hard vibe; plus, the styling, which included black Saint Laurent sandals and Stephen Webster jewels, allowed the dress to shine.

Hair- and makeup-wise, pretty damn flawless.

Pick one, boobs or thigh, and make it work. This just ends up not working on both levels. The green is gorgeous though.

Even though it is showing leg and cleav, I like it, to my own surprise.

    She looks so good

Eh. The draping and bunched sleeves just makes this look ill-fitting, but the color is great against her skin & her makeup’s nice.

Love the colour and her hair and makeup are fab, but the slit is excessively high, the chest is too bare and a gold accessory (ring/clutch) would’ve worked beautifully against this gorgeous green.

      Exactly my thoughts.

The slit is slightly too high and the sleeves are too long!
The hair and makeup as you said, FLAWLESS!

This sort of silky, drapey number has been done sooo much better before. Sometimes it’s even sexy. But the deep plunge, the high slit and the slightly cheap looking material aren’t, ewww.

Emerald is my favourite colour so I’m delighted by this look, expecially by the sultry fabric of the gown and the simple styling. Her pale skin is amazing against this colour! only thing I’d change is the split which is a bit unnecessary but the rest really is pretty damn flawless!

The very low front and the thigh high split are too much for me. The colour is nice but the fabric is not. The shoes, hair & make-up all look great. Everyone just looked so cheap last night, I don’t think anyone looked particularly good. They boys definitely won out

      +1

+2 Dare I say that the only one who really looked kinda decent (decent being relative) was Rita Ora. The rest covered the spectrum from frumpy to tacky, and desperate.

Jesse has really been working a sexier more grown up vibe recently, but this is too try-hard, and naked – even with all the fabric. The color however, is fabulous.

P.S. These splits that designers are featuring recently are beyond tacky.
