Alexa Chung In Valentino – International Woolmark Prize

Alexa Chung In Valentino - International Woolmark Prize

Alongside style legends Frida Giannini and Franca Sozzani, Alexa Chung turned judge during Milan Fashion Week as she and other fashion stars chose the winner of the hotly anticipated 2014 International Woolmark Prize.

Wearing a Valentino Pre-Fall 2014 cape dress cut across her shoulders and printed with intricate butterflies, the look was a refreshing update on Alexa’s usual preppy feminine style and I thought it was great to see her try new prints.

Typically, Alexa’s styling was minimal but it was great to see her hair blow-dried and her signature lick of eyeliner complemented the 60s feel of the dress.

To finish, Alexa chose a pair of nude strappy suede pumps. While they ensure the cape isn’t over-styled, to me the colour is just wrong. A pair of black and maroon pumps would have been so much more in-keeping and would have added an extra dimension to this look which I think it really needs. Do you agree?
