Ellie Goulding In ALICE by Temperley - Q Awards 2013

Ellie Goulding attended The Q Awards 2013 held at Grosvenor House in London this afternoon, where she picked up the Best Solo Act award.

Like Dakota Fanning, Ellie’s hair and makeup rarely change; however, I feel the simple look works well on this occasion.

She wore a black ALICE by Temperley Pre-Fall 2013 dress with a sheer veil of polka-dot tulle cinched with a grosgrain waistband.

Black Rupert Sanderson ‘Elba’ pumps and a selection of gold bracelets completed her award-winning look; but is this BDOTW-worthy in your eyes?

You may remember that Brittany Snow wore this same dress to the 2013 MuchMusic Video Awards back in June.

HATE the sheer skirt trend. Wish the dress and overlay stopped at the knee. It looks so cheap. Plus her styling is terrible.

I feel like I’ve seen her in this already

It’s really hard to compete with the lookbook in this case. The model wears it so well and the styling is gorgeous!!
Sadly, it just looks ugly on the red carpet.

    Loathe. Everything.

I don’t like the dress to begin with. I do fault Ellie for that hairstyle though. Her neck just disappears in an unflattering way. A ponytail would have been much better.

    This is quite boring.

She does look nice except for the hairstyle IMO.

Ppl should stop wearing this dress. No one looks good on it.

I dislike the dress, not to mention it also reminds me of Rachel Weisz’s Louis Vuitton at Golden Globes. Same “add a silly polka-dot tulle to a LBD to make a gown” idea, not a fan.

    Terrible dress.

She wears it better than Brittany, but I’m still not quite won over. Sheer overskirts are tricky anyway, and as much as I (still) love polka dots, that’s just too many of them.

LOVE the dress (I actually own it)! It’s a fun play on boring gowns.

Her hair desperately needs to be up. She could have had fun with the shoes too and she didn’t.

I think she looks terrible, and I’m really over these dresses with the partly sheer skirts.

NO. shower curtain, that’s all I see.

Didn’t like it when Brittany wore it still don’t like it and her hair looks kind of crazy. Maybe she needs new extensions?

  17. Christine October 21, 2013 at 4:40 pm #

She made this dress look so cheap

  18. Rebecca Z October 21, 2013 at 4:36 pm #

Not BDOTW for me. Not a fan of the dress or the styling.
