Clive Davis’ 2019 Pre-GRAMMY Gala

Fashion Blogger Catherine Kallon features Clive Davis' 2019 Pre-GRAMMY Gala

Celebrities were in the party spirit at Clive Davis’ 2019 Pre-GRAMMY Gala on Saturday (February 9) in Beverly Hills, California.

ASAP Rocky: He was popping in a pink Loewe Fall 2019 suit. There will be people who’ll object to the exaggerated oversized proportions, but he made the look his own with his styling and pearly jewellery.

Rita Ora: Never one to disappoint in the drama department, the singer was encircled in whimsical embellishment in Yanina Couture Spring 2019. Her finishing touches play into the flowing ensemble without competing.

Fashion 4 Development’s 8th Annual Official First Ladies

Fashion 4 Development's 8th Annual Official First Ladies

Black was the colour of choice at Fashion 4 Development’s 8th Annual Official First Ladies Luncheon on Tuesday (September 25) in New York City.

Ellie Goulding: The singer was effortlessly chic in Edeline Lee Spring 2018. The subtle details provide enough interest to the monochromatic look from the cinched belt to the gentle batwing sleeve to the sheer shoes.

Amber Heard: The actress took a more dramatic turn with her voluminous Tome bow-detailed frock from the Fall 2018 collection. The inky style felt insouciant courtesy of the pockets and her minimalist styling.

Ellie Goulding In Connelly – Nordoff Robbins O2 Silver Clef Awards

Ellie Goulding attended the Nordoff Robbins O2 Silver Clef Awards on Friday (July 6) in London.

The boxy suit trend was soaring at an steady rate, but considering Amy Adams’ recent outing, and now this shocker from Ellie, perhaps it’s had it day.

It’s no secret that I’ve never been a fan of Ellie’s style, but let me present you with the reason why in this case.

Exhibit A: The cut of this Connelly suit is all wrong for her.

Exhibit B: The colour is not doing her any favours.

Exhibit C: Those shoes are hammering the final nail in the coffin.

Bad all-round.

V&A Fashioned from Nature VIP Preview

The V&A Fashioned from Nature VIP Preview on Wednesday (April 18) in London, England saw a few attendees pay tribute to the naturalistic theme.

Natalie Imbruglia: Turning heads with a captivating pattern and a voluminous silhouette, the Australian singer wore Bora Aksu Spring 2018. The muted blue prevents the heart pattern from become twee. Presumably, she added the jacket for a similar reason, but I would have liked to see the ensemble without it. The Bottega Veneta clutch was more successful.

Arizona Muse: The model’s white Stella McCartney outfit had a subtle flapper sentiment with the short silhouette, long necklace and her sculpted waves. The white and blue combination has such a refreshing springtime air but I wish the necklace was shortened so it wouldn’t compete with the delicate peplum.

Ellise Chappell: The ‘Poldark’ actress embraced the natural theme with a whimsical dress from Alice Archer. The frills, sheer polka dot fabric and watercolour floral print are brimming with romance. The metallic shoes added more ethereal beauty.

2018 Vanity Fair Oscar Party Red Carpet Roundup

The crush of beauties continued in full force on the red carpet of the 2018 Vanity Fair Oscar Party last night (March 4) in Beverly Hills, California.

Odeya Rush: The young starlet was a vision in this neon-bright chartreuse Vivienne Westwood Couture gown. The sculptural, one-shoulder ruffle detail is nothing we haven’t seen before, but the bold colour made the look feel dynamic. I do think she could have offered up a more youthful beauty look—and less bronzer—to accompany the sophisticated sass of the gown.

Dree Hemingway: There was a delicate daintiness to this Valentino Pre-Fall 2018 nude, embellished lace gown, which Dree echoed in her minimal hair and makeup. The yellow-tinged, ribbon belt made all the difference in breathing a bit of life into the neutral dress, with Repossi jewels to complete the look.

Ellie Goulding In Stella McCartney – The BRIT Awards 2018

Ellie Goulding bucked the big gown The Brit Awards 2018 trend on the red carpet this evening (February 21), as favoured by Dua Lipa and Rita Ora.

She’s a great singer and a beautiful girl, but this Stella McCartney dress isn’t doing her any favours.

It’s like the dress came off the set from a bad ’80s movie with puffy shoulders and tiered skirt, but the biggest issue is just how unflattering the dress is.

I honestly feel sorry for her. She is so much better than this.
