A Golden Night for Saint Laurent at the 2026 CFDA Fashion Awards
Anthony Vaccarello was honoured at the 2026 CFDA Fashion Awards in New York last night, and following the announcement of his departure from Saint Laurent after a decade as creative director, he gathered four of his favourite girls – Zoë Kravitz, Hailey Bieber, Rosé and Anja Rubik – for a golden moment.

Having spent much of his tenure dressing these women in black, seeing them embrace head-to-toe gold from his Spring 2027 collection was a refreshing change. And I must say, I’m enjoying this final chapter for Vaccarello’s golden girls.

24-Carat Gold
If anyone has become synonymous with black Saint Laurent, it’s Zoë Kravitz. So seeing her in this gold lamé backless bodysuit and low-waisted pencil skirt from the Spring 2027 collection was a welcome change, even if the collection itself had already given us a taste of what was to come.
Of course, Zoë has worn colour before, but when it comes to Saint Laurent, black has practically become her uniform.
Statement earrings are clearly finding their way beyond Sarah Paulson’s jewellery box, with Zoë selecting the Saint Laurent lace flower Cabochon earrings. Her burgundy and gold Kephren slingback pumps were another highlight. I love that unexpected colour combination.

The Rise Is My Only Issue
Hailey Bieber is certainly no stranger to colour either, but seeing her embrace this gold brocade Saint Laurent two-piece was equally refreshing.
My only issue is the skirt. Even though the low waist worked on the runway, I think it would have worked better on Hailey had it sat a little higher, as the proportions don’t quite work for me.
However, I love the fur-trimmed cuffs, which bring a touch of ’80s glamour to the look.
Saint Laurent Salomé sandals completed her look.

Same Skirt, Better Proportions
Rosé wore a similar gold brocade Saint Laurent skirt, but I think she fared much better, with the waist sitting higher and the embellished halterneck crop top creating a more flattering balance.
It’s interesting how two interpretations of a similar skirt can produce such different results. For me, Rosé’s proportions are much more successful.
Jessica McCormack diamond hoop earrings and a pear-shaped diamond ring, along with Saint Laurent Dovima sandals, completed her look.

Deliciously ’80s
Anja Rubik is my favourite of this quartet. There is something deliciously ’80s about this gold lamé Saint Laurent three-piece look, from the oversized jacket and relaxed skirt to the metallic finish. I could easily imagine Jerry Hall wearing something like this during her Studio 54 days.
Lily flower earrings and Cleopatra sandals completed her look.
I can’t wait for this collection to arrive in stores, because I’m especially curious to see just how impressive these gold fabrics are in person.
