Menswear Roundup: From London to New York Film Festival
This week’s menswear takes us from London to New York and Tokyo, with interesting tailoring, unexpected colour combinations and a few looks that deserve a closer look.

The Man I Love NYFF Premiere
Luther Ford is one of my favourites, and I maintain that we don’t see him on the red carpet nearly enough. I love how much personality he packed into this Prada look. Even the slightly awkward proportions add to its charm.

Elsinore BFI London Film Festival Opening Gala
Andrew Scott may have toned down his love for bold colours in this Celine look, but he still gave us a refreshing alternative to the traditional premiere suit. The contrasting shades of brown, patterned tie and floral brooch make this so much more interesting than your average tailoring.

Joe Locke wore Hermès Fall 2026, keeping things classic in black tailoring with trousers slightly too long. And it looks like the tonal shirt-and-tie trend popularised by Loewe is catching on at Hermès, too. A Cartier Tortue watch, Cartier pin and Jimmy Choo Foxley Oxford shoes completed his look.

Club Kid NYFF Premiere
Speaking of that tonal shirt-and-tie trend, Diego Calva appears to be a fan of what Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez are doing at Loewe. This is his second colour combination from the label, and while I’m not entirely sold on the blue and black together, he always looks good.

Digger Tokyo Premiere
Tom Cruise wore a black wool Dior suit. It’s business as usual for Tom, and while there’s nothing particularly adventurous here, the fit is excellent. He really does love those boots.

Artificial NYFF Premiere
Yura Borisov wore Berluti, and this blue corduroy-effect suede suit has something of a retro workwear feel, almost like a very stylish mechanic’s uniform.

You can always rely on Andrew Garfield for colour combinations outside the expected, and this J. Press outing was no exception. He may look serious, but the pale yellow shirt and navy tailoring have plenty of personality. A Jaeger-LeCoultre watch completed his look.

Whalefall London Premiere
I’m not usually a fan of satin suits, but Austin Abrams is making a strong case for them in this custom Valentino look by Alessandro Michele. And those studded Valentino Garavani loafers are exactly the kind of finishing touch I want to see.

The Social Reckoning New York Premiere
Jeremy Allen White wore custom Louis Vuitton, pairing a navy pinstripe suit with a snake-print tie. It’s an unexpected addition that gives the look some character. A yellow-gold Louis Vuitton Monterey watch completed his outfit.

Clarissa NYFF Premiere
David Oyelowo, usually a man who enjoys a bold pattern, gave tonal dressing a try in this chocolate-brown ensemble. Layering a turtleneck under a leather shirt sounds like a recipe for overheating, but he looks cool regardless.
