Menswear Roundup: From Velvet Tailoring to Preppy Knitwear
The latest menswear outings took us from New York premieres and Paris Fashion Week to a world tour and the San Sebastián Film Festival, with tailoring still dominating but plenty of different ideas about how to wear it.

East of Eden New York Premiere
Joseph Zada wore a Louis Vuitton black velvet double-breasted jacket, white shirt and black tie with jeans, shaking up the house’s usual tailoring M.O.
I keep going back and forth on how I feel about this. On the one hand, the top half is impeccable and the jeans feel like they are bringing the look down. On the other, they give the tailoring a fresher, less formal feel. I’m staying on the fence for now. Where do you stand?
The LV brooch added a decorative detail.

The Social Reckoning Paris Premiere
For those who weren’t sold on Jeremy Allen White’s London look, I suspect Louis Vuitton suit will be more to their liking. I’m enjoying both sides of his press-tour wardrobe, but there’s no denying how good Jeremy looks in classic tailoring, especially when the denim blue is offset by that green tie.
Black leather Kensington derbies and a Louis Vuitton Monterey watch in yellow gold completed his look.

Out In Paris
Mark Ronson is in town for Paris Fashion Week, and having already taken his place in the Saint Laurent front row, you won’t be surprised to see him rocking this Saint Laurent leather trench while carrying the Saint Laurent Y tote.
Everyone has been carrying the Simone bag lately, so I was glad to see this classic getting some love again. The suede shoes were also a great choice with an otherwise all-black look.

Verity New York Premiere
Josh Hartnett kept things classic in Gucci, wearing a dark double-breasted suit. There’s not much to pick apart here, and there doesn’t need to be. The subtle check gives the suit enough character, while his Cartier watch provided the finishing touch.

The tailoring is perfect on Ismael Cruz Córdova, as I have come to expect from him.
He has the presence to make something as classic as this Valentino suit feel interesting, which is why he remains one of my faves.

‘Don’t Be Dumb’ World Tour
I love seeing A$AP Rocky take something so unmistakably Chanel and make it work within his own style. The Chanel Coco Neige 2026 cardigan, with its preppy, collegiate feel, immediately took me back to early Kanye West, when colourful knitwear and polos were such a big part of his look.
A$AP Rocky, of course, puts his own spin on it and brings his own attitude, which is exactly what makes this partnership so interesting.

Club Kid San Sebastián International Film Festival Photocall
I had been hoping to find a full-length picture of Diego Calva in this Loewe suit, but it wasn’t to be.
If you felt that his Willy Chavarria suit was too bright, perhaps this brown and mint combination is more to your liking. As you can see, it carries the tonal shirt and tie we have seen with much of Loewe tailoring by Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, along with the single turned-out cuff and motif on the jacket.
Signatures can become repetitive quite quickly, but the colour variations are keeping this idea interesting.
