2026 MTV VMAs Menswear
Here is a roundup of the menswear looks from the 2026 MTV VMAs, where familiar tailoring shared the red carpet with feathers, leather, double denim and a full couture moment. Some men used the occasion to push beyond their usual formula, while others left me wondering what went wrong.
A Welcome Change
Troye Sivan has been a certified Prada devotee for quite some time, so seeing him switch things up in Erdem was refreshing. You will instantly recognise the house codes in the draped feathers, which we recently saw on Sienna Miller, along with the patch on the jacket, a detail that appeared throughout the Spring 2025 collection.
The Prada looks had started to meld into one for me. There are only so many variations of a cropped vest and shirt with low-rise trousers before one look becomes difficult to distinguish from the next. This reminded me of how adventurous Troye’s style was pre-Prada, and it is easily one of the best menswear looks I have seen this year. Spinelli Kilcollin jewellery completed his look.
What Happened Here?
The thing about the Superman press tour was that Nicholas Hoult was doing much of the fashion heavy lifting. We were so enamoured with his style and new blond hair that David Corenswet didn’t need to do quite as much, even as the film’s lead. We didn’t love all of David’s looks, but with Nicholas feeding us, it didn’t matter quite as much.
Now, standing alone on this red carpet in dunhill, I’m absolutely flabbergasted by how bad this is. The grey completely washes him out, the grooming isn’t helping, and I’m not even talking about the creases. The whole thing looks sloppy to me. And why are the trousers so short? Christian Louboutin Dandelion shoes completed his look.
Double Denim Redemption
We were not enamoured by Brad Pitt’s double-denim moment in San Sebastián, but Belmont Cameli makes a far more convincing case for it in Ferragamo.
This works because the proportions feel right and there is enough contrast between the two shades of denim to stop everything merging together. I’m also glad he removed the additional shirt from the runway styling. It would have made the look feel unnecessarily layered when this simpler approach suits him better. Christian Louboutin Orlando shoes and David Yurman jewellery completed his look.
Country, Chrome Hearts Style
You can always rely on Shaboozey to bring some country-inspired flair to the red carpet, but Chrome Hearts took that idea somewhere sharper with this custom-made three-piece leather suit.
Without the accessories, you might not immediately read this as country, but the belt and Western boots make the reference clear. More importantly, it still feels completely in step with the way Shaboozey has approached fashion throughout his rise.
The Jacket Does The Talking
Sinners actor Miles Caton wore KidSuper Fall 2026, with the graphic leather jacket doing most of the work. It’s a strong choice for Miles and feels right for both him, and the VMAs.
Second Generation Style
Magnus Ferrell, yes Will Ferrell’s son, and he wore Viviano Spring 2027.
The powder-blue look is a great introduction to his red-carpet style. The embroidered shirt and matching tie have a slightly retro quality, while the wide-leg trousers make the whole thing feel current.
A Couture Tribute
Adam Lambert brought the spirit of his latest album, ADAM, to the VMAs in custom Charles de Vilmorin Couture, wearing a black silk taffeta cape.
The look celebrates the album’s themes of fearless self-expression while paying homage to the iconic queer creatives who paved the way for artists like Adam. Here, that tribute was to André Leon Talley, with the dramatic black-tinted rooster-feather headpiece inspired by the work of Philip Treacy.
It’s a meaningful fashion statement, but also one that feels completely natural for Adam, who has never treated menswear conventions as boundaries.
