Halsey In Ashish – 2018 iHeartRADIO MuchMusic Video Awards

A post shared by halsey (@iamhalsey) on

Halsey unleashed some serious star power on the 2018 iHeartRADIO MuchMusic Video Awards stage with a back-to-back performance of her Hopeless Fountain Kingdom hits ‘Sorry’ and ‘Bad at Love.’

Her Ashish Spring 2018 glittering, crystal-embellished dress was a show stopper in itself, but the look was further elevated with a dramatic duster coat which she removed for the second song.

Stuart Weitzman black suede ‘Tippi’ pumps didn’t seem sexy, until paired with Wolford’s Adeline socks for a glossy finish.

Plenty more drama was imbued by her fiery orange and red eye makeup.

Jennifer Lopez In Versace – Jennifer Lopez’s MTV VMA’s Vanguard Award Celebration After-Party

Jennifer Lopez In Versace - Jennifer Lopez's MTV VMA's Vanguard Award Celebration After-Party

Following red carpet entrance and performance, Jennifer Lopez partied like a boss to celebrate her MTV VMA’s Vanguard Award with an after-party in New York City.

Keeping up the Versace Pillow Talk printed theme, this time she rocked a full look with deceptive PVC shoes, when at first I thought she was rocking matching boots.

The look boasts an exuberant use of colour and detailed with the an amalgamation of Baroque-inspired motifs rendered in rich gold and cobalt blue.

Regardless of which side of the fence you are sitting with this look, you have to admit that this look was made for JLo. Right down to the chunky belt, For Art’s Sake ‘Alien’ shades and necklaces.

Following her red carpet entrance, Cardi B opened the 2018 MTV VMAs by teasing a possible reveal of Kulture, her daughter – only to unwrap a Moon Man statue she was cradling onstage in a blanket.

She did so wearing a custom-made Azzi & Ostas Couture red gown featuring four tails, a cinched waist and exaggerated hips.

I really wanted this to be iconic. Jessica Rabbit iconic, but my nagging and overwhelming thought is, “she’s too short for this dress”.

Factor in the awkwardness of the bodice, and it’s a disappointing no from me.

Jennifer Lopez’s MTV VMAs Atelier Versace Extravaganza

Jennifer Lopez's MTV VMAs Atelier Versace Extravaganza

It seems that you expected more from Jennifer Lopez on the red carpet at the 2018 MTV VMAs, mostly because it was her night – as the recipient of the MTV Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award – and because, well, she’s JLo.

I’m not quite sure how an Atelier Versace gown doesn’t excite, but the diva had plenty more Atelier Versace looks up her sleeve.

For her performance, she first appeared on stage in a custom-made chiffon cape in the Versace Pillow Talk print from the Pre- Fall 2018 collection, entirely encrusted in Swarovski Crystals while performing ‘Waiting For Tonight’.

Removing the cape she gave us an eye-popping reveal of her gold bondage-style body suit with Swarovski crystal mesh accents, featuring a gold Medusa medallion.

As things slowed down for her ‘ All I Have’ performance, she donned a custom white faux-fur coat with Pillow Talk print lining.

For the finale, JLo layered her body suit with a custom-made tracksuit fully embellished with Swarovski crystals for her ‘Jenny From The Block’ performance and my personal favourite part – where the nostalgia was very real – with the introduction of Ja Rule as they performed ‘I’m Real’ and ‘Ain’t It Funny’.

She accessorized her look with a fully encrusted hat with Swarovski crystal embellishments and iconic gold Medusa.

For the acceptance of her MTV Video Music Award for Best Collaboration, Jennifer wore stunning in a black micro-mini dress encrusted with art-deco inspired geometric crystal beading, with dramatic layerd laser-cut plexiglass skirt, which she accessorized perfectly with an oversized statement belt and coordinating beaded ankle boots.

That’s a lot of bling, but I expected nothing less from JLo.
