Dakota Johnson’s Valentino Look Is Pure Alessandro Michele

Following the London premiere of Verity, Dakota Johnson attended The Vendetta Motel | Valentino Beauty Vendetta Fragrance launch party, held at The Vinyl Factory.

After opting for sheer lace at the premiere, Dakota changed direction in this Valentino Resort 2027 dress, which speaks directly to Alessandro Michele’s love of colour, embellishment and vintage references. The orange and lavender combination plays into that aesthetic, along with the beaded decoration that gives the dress its distinctive finish.

There is still a sheer element, of course, but this time it is confined to the top half, with what appears to be a lining beneath the skirt.

We have already seen Colman Domingo and Kingston Rumi Southwick wear versions of the sash at the Creative Arts Emmys. I am glad it was omitted here. The dress already has enough going on between the colour and embellishment, although I can see some feeling that the waist needed the definition the sash provided on the runway.
