After a busy 2026, I’m not surprised that Anne Hathaway skipped the London premiere of her fifth film this year, Verity, leaving the UK press duties to her co-stars Josh Hartnett and Dakota Johnson, who attended the Gala Screening at The Curzon Mayfair this evening.

We all know Dakota loves a lace dress. We have documented that fact extensively, but girl, do you have another tune on the banjo?

Does she look good in this Colleen Allen Spring 2026 cream lace dress? Yes—until I get to the jarring black underwear.

I get it. This is a sexy thriller, and Dakota probably didn’t want to wear her tenth sheer black lace dress of the year, but—and I’m not being prudish here—I would have preferred either the black version or neutral underwear beneath the cream.

Some might think I’m being hypercritical considering I liked the flash of hot pink beneath Daisy Edgar-Jones’ black SHUSHU/TONG lace mini dress. For me, the difference is that the pink felt fun and playful, whereas the black underwear here feels jarring against the cream lace. Those who disliked Daisy’s look will probably tell me I’m splitting hairs, and perhaps you’ll have a point.

I’m not sure how long this press tour is, but I’m hoping this is the last lace dress we see from Dakota during it.
