Celebrities in Prada at the 2026 Met Gala
Prada had a strong presence on the red carpet for the “Costume Art”-themed Met Gala, but the question is: did the house fully engage with the brief?

Printed Precision
Carey Mulligan wore a custom Prada strawberry-red column gown featuring a solarised rectangular motif inspired from the Prada Spring/Summer 1998 collection, with the archival print introducing an art reference. Tiffany & Co. jewels completed her look, which, even despite the print, feels typically understated for the actress.

Painterly Reference
Hunter Schafer delivered one of Prada’s clearest responses to the theme in a custom linen gown with printed silk chiffon devoré detailing inspired by Gustav Klimt’s portrait of Mäda Primavesi. The soft layering and decorative surface work gave the look a direct link to art history. A coordinating floral bow hair accessory and white embroidered satin pumps completed her look. This is one of the few moments where the brief is clearly met.

Soft Focus Florals
Maya Hawke’s custom Prada layered dress with floral micro-embroidery leaned into 18th-century references, drawing from the work of Jean-Honoré Fragonard. The silhouette remains relatively restrained, but the detailing and inspiration tie it back to the theme. A matching headband, Prada Fine Jewelry from the Couleur Vivante collection, and red satin embroidered pumps completed her look. It engages with the theme through reference, even if it doesn’t push further as we would expect from someone as theatrical as Maya.

Leather Shift
Nicholas Hoult stepped back into his supervillain era, stepping away from blonde and going full Lex Luthor. This was amplified by this full leather custom Prada look. I’m not usually a big fan of cropped jackets in menswear, but the proportions of this one work perfectly. I love it when he steps away from what is expected from him. A Vacheron Constantin timepiece and a brooch completed his look.

Off-Duty Energy
Much like Connor Storrie, I would have expected more from Troye Sivan. This Prada look feels like an ode to the 1980s film Grease. Pandora Jewelry completed his look.

Familiar Territory
Amanda Seyfried wore a custom Prada alabaster-pink dress with a low-waist skirt constructed with symmetrical bows. It’s a flattering and well-executed look, and easily one of her stronger recent red carpet moments, but I feel like I have seen this countless times before. Tiffany & Co. jewels completed her look.

After The Reveal
Following Damson Idris’ theatrical F1: The Movie reveal from last year’s event, this custom Prada leather look was notably quieter. But, overall, this look was underwhelming in any context. A Rainbow Maxi necklace by DIDRIS completed his look.
