Naomi Watts Wore Valentino To ABC Studios

The Emmys campaign for Love Story continued yesterday, with Naomi Watts spotted en route to ABC Studios in New York City.

This latest street style outing comes courtesy of Valentino’s Pre-Fall 2026 collection, and it leans into a distinctly retro register. The pinstriped, softly structured jacket with its contrast collar and polka-dot tie-neck bow sits somewhere between late-’50s polish and early-’60s daywear, while the shimmering floral pleated skirt shifts the tone, softening the tailoring with a more romantic finish.

There’s a gentle echo of her portrayal of Jackie Kennedy in the neatness of the upper half and the composed finish, but it reads as a modern interpretation of that era’s codes.

Then we get to the shoes.

The Valentino Garavani Rockstud pumps have become such a constant that you start to wonder if they’re a prerequisite for the clothes. Yes, the white version works with the spring outings we’ve seen on Rose Byrne and Myha’la, but I’m wondering if they come in any other colour.

Colour aside, the real issue is their presence. The sharp studs and rigid structure feel at odds with the softness of the look. Where the jacket and skirt suggest ease and a certain playfulness, the shoes bring a harder edge that interrupts the mood.

Interestingly, the black bag lands far better. It adds contrast without competing, anchoring the look in a way the shoes don’t.

At this point, the repetition of the Rockstuds is starting to feel less like a styling choice and more like a default setting. Personally, I’m more than ready to see this trend come to an end.
