Kate Hudson’s Bioeffect Glow for the TIME100 Gala

With Kate Hudson’s black silk Khaite dress with a striking heart-shaped neckline for the TIME100 Gala, celebrity makeup artist Quinn Murphy set the tone for the beauty look, referencing the 80s Saint Laurent mood of the dress.

Quinn built a look around sculpted, glowing skin and a smouldering eye with a subtle kitten extension.

Skin prep was where everything began. Quinn used Bioeffect to get that smooth, hydrated base that reads well under lights and close-up photography. He applied the 3XGF Recovery Serum across the face and neck, followed by the 3XGF Recovery Eye Serum to the upper and lower lids. For an extra boost, the Imprinting Eye Mask was layered on top and left for 15 minutes to brighten and reduce puffiness. Once removed, the EGF Power Cream was pressed into the skin, locking in hydration and creating that supple finish that allows makeup to sit cleanly.

The eyes carried the look. A deep brown eye pencil was worked into the inner rims and through the inner and outer corners, built up in layers and then diffused with a fluffy brush to create a soft, smoky frame. The focus wasn’t on harsh lines, but on depth that draws attention without overpowering.

Lashes were key to that feline shape. Quinn used TAD Beauty 3D Printed Lash Clusters alongside Stripments to extend the outer corners, placing two 8mm clusters in the Bliss style before adding a segment of the Pixi Stripment to push the cat-eye effect further. A coat of brown mascara on the lower lashes kept the balance.

To finish, bronzer was placed along the outer edges of the face to enhance structure, paired with a caramel-nude lip that kept the overall look cohesive. A final mist of Bioeffect Icelandic Water Mist refreshed the skin, ensuring everything stayed smooth and camera-ready.
