Ayo Edebiri Wore Chanel On Late Night with Seth Meyers

Ayo Edebiri made a guest appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers on Tuesday, where she spoke about everything from having a tattoo of a Don Cheadle quote from Ocean’s Eleven to Barack and Michelle Obama co-producing Proof on Broadway, in which she stars.

Just a day after noting Charlotte Casiraghi as the fourth celebrity to wear this Chanel Spring 2026 white shirt, Ayo now becomes the fifth. Following Nicole Kidman, Jessie Buckley, and Jacob Elordi, the piece is quickly building momentum, and what makes it interesting is how differently it has been styled each time. Had everyone approached it the same way, fatigue would have set in by now.

Trust Ayo to take a more playful route. She styled the oversized shirt as a mini, pairing it with sheer tights, black pumps, and a bold red Chanel shearling shawl from the Pre-Fall 2026 collection. It’s a look that feels theatrical in the best sense, with a stage-ready quality enhanced by the drama of that red accent tapping into a broader Broadway sensibility.

It’s unexpected, slightly mischievous, and entirely in keeping with Ayo’s ability to have fun with fashion. I did wonder if that might be dialled back following her appointment as a Chanel ambassador, but it’s good to see those instincts are still there.

And it was the right call to pair this shearling shawl with this look, rather than her street-style Chanel leather look from last week. You may remember that Penelope Cruz also wore this shawl to ‘The Bride!’ London premiere.
