Chloë Sevigny attended the New Museum 2026 Spring Gala, held at Cipriani South Street this week, wearing a look that leans fully into the season.

This may be an unpopular opinion, but I love this Chloé Spring 2026 dress on Chloë. These floral prints and artfully draped silhouettes have always felt aligned with her, but never in an overly delicate way.

I expected the styling to take an offbeat turn, but the version I had in mind was different. I pictured her in downtown New York—paparazzi shot, mid-summer, walking a dog, cigarette in hand—styled with something minimal like The Row thong sandals. That kind of undone, effortless framing feels more in tune with her usual point of view.

The reality here, with white tights and off-white shoes, interrupts that vision and shifts the mood entirely.

As much as I appreciate Chloë’s instinct to take risks, this is one styling choice I can’t get behind.
