Meryl Streep Wore Prada To ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’ Seoul Press Conference
Meryl Streep joined Anne Hathaway for The Devil Wears Prada 2 Seoul premiere, which took place earlier today.

If you had told me that Meryl Streep would be the one carrying this press tour, I would have said that there was no way that Anne wouldn’t be the style star of this tour.
Turns out, I couldn’t have been more wrong.

Meryl is once again being Meryl, and that is exactly why this is working. She knows exactly who she is on this red carpet, and it shows. It also throws Anne Hathaway’s approach into sharper focus, where things feel far less natural by comparison.

As the “devil,” Meryl wearing Prada feels entirely on point. This is her third red look on this press tour, and here it finally clicks as a direct nod to Miranda, because she is the devil wearing actual Prada, inspired by the Fall 2009 collection. This reads as her strongest Miranda-coded moment of the press tour so far. The Prada label, the recurring red, and the character reference all line up, so the theme comes through clearly without feeling forced or heavy-handed. It lands with ease.

The off-the-shoulder styling leans oversized, but it reads as intentional rather than ill-fitting. I would have preferred a black belt to echo the buttons, but that’s a small note in what is otherwise another strong outing from her.
A David Yurman necklace, with the rest of her jewels 1980s Fred Leighton, and gold sandals completed her look.
Stylist: Micaela Erlanger.
