Lady Gaga Wore Marc Jacobs To The 2025 MTV VMAs

At the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards, Lady Gaga gave us both: a pre-recorded performance of Abracadabra and The Dead Dance that looked like pure gothic theatre, followed by an in-person appearance to pick up her armful of Moon Men, including Artist of the Year.

Her red carpet look matched the energy. Still very much in her Wednesday-fuelled Mother Monster mood, Gaga stepped into Marc Jacobs Fall 2025 voluminous gothic gown with ruffled lace embroidery and sleeves that doubled as architecture. It was sculptural, theatrical, and absolutely Gaga.

The styling pushed it even further. Bleached brows, red lipstick, and a floral headpiece tucked into her updo turned the look into full-blown Wednesday-core. Some will say it’s too much, but when has Gaga ever been about restraint?

Personally, I love this side of her—the unapologetic creativity that makes her one of the few stars who can still make a red carpet feel like an event. Awards season Gaga may tone it down, but VMAs Gaga? She’s exactly where she should be.
