Venice Film Festival Menswear Red Carpet Roundup
Here is a look at some of the menswear that’s been making waves during the opening week of the Venice Film Festival.
Arrivals

Yes, denim can look this elegant. Jude Law strolled into the Hotel Excelsior in a Brunello Cucinelli denim-blend suit, crisp linen shirt, and taupe suede loafers, topping things off with blue-tinted sunglasses from the Spring 2026 collection. The whole look felt like it belonged on a sun-drenched terrace overlooking the Lido.

Easy, breezy, but still polished — it’s the kind of style Venice was made for.

Oscar Isaac kept it cool and approachable in Celine — not flashy, but the kind of understated confidence that makes you look twice.

Frankenstein
Oscar Isaac’s tonal black look hit the perfect balance of rugged and refined. There’s something so satisfying about a man who can make simplicity feel powerful.

Premieres

Frankenstein
Then came the premiere — and honestly, I nearly fell out of my seat. Oscar Isaac in an ivory and black Celine suit, punctuated with a playful polka-dot shirt. This is how you do relaxed sophistication. He skipped the current extra-long trouser craze, and thank goodness, because the clean break and visible patent leather shoes added polish. This is easily one of the menswear highlights of the festival.

After The Hunt
Luca Guadagnino delivered a Dior white floral jacket that I really wanted to champion. But the jeans? For a Venice premiere? That was a dealbreaker. The jacket deserved better.

The Wizard of the Kremlin
Tom Sturridge doesn’t leave home without his signature shades, and sure enough, he paired Saint Laurent SL801 sunglasses with a midnight-blue Saint Laurent suit and Vadim derbies. I almost wrote this off as typical Tom — but the rare addition of a tie gave it just enough freshness.

Jude Law returned in a second Brunello Cucinelli look, opting for a one-and-a-half-breasted white tuxedo jacket with navy trousers and leather Oxfords. On paper, it sounds flawless, but in reality, the fit let him down. And with tailoring this simple, fit is everything.
