2025 Cannes Film Festival Closing Ceremony Red Carpet Rouundup
As the curtains closed on the 2025 Cannes Film Festival, the stars gave us one final sartorial parade on the red carpet.

Lace, satin, and just the right dose of drama
I truly believe that on almost anyone else, this Louis Vuitton black lace bustier gown over a blue satin lining might’ve been a tough sell. But Renate Reinsve has that elusive quality—presence. And it’s her presence, paired with the gown’s voluminous crinoline-backed frill skirt, that completely won me over. It was bold, and somehow effortlessly cool. The look was topped off with pieces from Louis Vuitton’s High Jewelry collection: the dazzling Tumbler necklace, ring, and earcuff.

A Little Too Informal
Juliette Binoche was so close to getting a perfect style score for her Cannes run. Her Prada look—cropped jacket and maxi skirt combo—was strong. Quintessentially Binoche. But the white t-shirt with red trim tucked underneath? That knocked it off the 10 pedestal. It made the ensemble feel more like a daytime press call than a red carpet send-off. The potential was there, but I needed a blouse or something a little more elevated to take it home.

Matchy Matchy
This Oscar de la Renta gown is objectively gorgeous on Jane Fonda. The silhouette, the detailing—textbook red carpet glamour. But the colour? I’m not convinced it is doing her any favours. It’s simply washing her out. Swap the shade, and I’d be all in.

Gold, grey, and perfectly graceful
Leïla Slimani gave us a beautifully composed red carpet moment in Dior. Her grey and gold lace dress from the Resort 2025 collection was a fittingly graceful choice for the festival finale.
