Celebrities in Dior at the 2025 Met Gala
If you thought Maria Grazia Chiuri would sit the 2025 Met Gala theme out and float down the floral, romantic route she’s known for—surprise. This year delivered a masterclass in refined, feminine tailoring. With the theme Superfine: Tailoring Black Style setting the tone, Dior’s lineup offered elegance with sharp edges and just enough accessories to whisper dandyism with a Parisian accent.

White Hot Twin Energy
Anna Sawai and Zendaya clearly got the same memo. Both women turned up in crisp white suits and coordinating wide-brimmed hats like they were about to host the most exclusive garden salon in town. Anna, however, took the dandy baton and ran with it—adding white leather gloves, a Cartier tie-pin to her Dior look.

The New Look, Recut
Monica Barbaro served up a delicious slice of 1950s glamour with her Dior ivory silk Bar jacket, the holy grail of the house’s tailoring. Styled with white leather gloves and a Dior white canotier hat tied with a black silk ribbon, this was classic Dior meets Black dandy inspiration by way of a Hitchcock heroine. The silhouette was sharp, the styling was tight, and the Bvlgari jewels added just the right flash of modernity. She looked like she stepped out of time, but with full awareness of the night’s theme.

Dandy Deluxe
Finally, someone brought a cane to this Met Gala. Wearing Dior Fall 2020 by Kim Jones, Caleb McLaughlin’s grey suit with an orange velvet collar was already a power play, but then came the details: blue velvet gloves, silk tie, pearl necktie ring, brooches, and a hat that tied the whole look together like a jazz-era poem. This was dandyism through and through—rooted in Black style history, but updated with high-fashion finesse. A watch from Zenith completed his look.

Miranda Kerr hides tailoring in plain sight
At first glance, Miranda Kerr’s Dior look was classic Met Gala gown—a black velvet floor-sweeper paired with Tiffany & Co. jewels. But on closer inspection, the cleverness kicked in: the dress was accented with a deconstructed tailored jacket, reimagined as a skirt. It was tailoring camouflaged in couture. While it may not have screamed dandyism from across the room, it whispered it.
