2018 CFDA Fashion Awards Red Carpet Roundup

Here is a roundup of some of the other attendees at the 2018 CFDA Fashion Awards on Monday (June 4) held at the Brooklyn Museum in New York City, joining Cate Blanchett, Kim Kardashian, Sarah Paulson and many more.

Nina Dobrev: I really wanted more from Nina. More colour, more magic, more wow and something unexpected. I feel like we’ve seen this Zac Posen dress a thousand times.

Whoopi Goldberg: Do not adjust your sets, this is Whoopi wearing a hot pink in Christian Siriano Spring 2018 suit with a matching hat that wouldn’t look out of place at the Kentucky Derby. Even if you don’t like the fit or the comfortable shoes, at least this is guaranteed to put a smile on your face.

Rosario Dawson In Maria Lucia Hohan – Museum of Artemis: Life on the Moon

Rosario Dawson attended the ‘Artemis: Journey To The Moon’ event on Thursday (October 5) in New York City.

If you thought you knew everything there is to know about Maria Lucia Hohan dresses, Rosario invites you to throw out those notions when you see her latest look.

The Romanian designers signature style has given way to this free-flowing halter chiffon dress with peek-a-boo sensual panels accented with studs to give the look a galactic feel.

Malone Souliers ‘Savannah’ heels completed this very strong showing from Rosario.

One for her hall-of-fame.

Rosario Dawson In STUDIO 189 – Harper’s BAZAAR Celebrates ‘ICONS By Carine Roitfeld’

Rosario Dawson shone at the Harper’s Bazaar ICONS party on Friday (September 8).

The actress celebrated with a painterly number from Studio 189, her line of ethnically made clothing that provides skills training, empowerment and jobs to artisans in Ghana.

Opting for a modified version, Rosario allowed the full splendour of the gown to be seen. The prim collar and belt were refreshing details for evening, but still allowed the dress to maintain its formal feel.

Would you have liked to see it styled with the hoodie?

Marvel’s The Defenders New York Premiere Red Carpet Roundup

The New York City premiere of ‘Marvel’s The Defenders’ brought out a number of additional stars to join Krysten Ritter on the red carpet on Monday (July 31).

Jessica Henwick: I love how Jessica’s Vionnet patchwork motif dress cheekily played into a comic-book theme without compromising any of its modern glamour. Roger Vivier heels along with De Beers jewels and a Hayward House clutch completed the picture.

Deborah Ann Woll: My main issue with this J. Mendel Pre-Fall 2017 metallic lace gown was the aging effect it had on the actress—that, and the visible underlining which further compromised the dress.

Rosario Dawson: Rosario’s version of contemporary superhero consisted of a black jumpsuit tied with a celestial-print sash.

Rosario Dawson In Vivienne Westwood Couture – ‘Unforgettable’ LA Premiere

Rosario Dawson joined Katherine Heigl for the ‘Unforgettable’ LA premiere on Tuesday (April 18).

While the gold shimmering hue was divine against her skin, I can’t say I am too enamoured by this Vivienne Westwood Couture design.

It feels dated, plus I don’t like what it’s doing to Rosario’s chest here.

Rosario is such a beautiful woman, but her style is frustratingly inconsistent.

Rosario Dawson In Kenzo – ‘Iron Fist’ NYC Premiere

Rosario Dawson was also at the New York City premiere of ‘Iron Fist’ on Wednesday (March 15) alongside Jessica Stroup.

No pattern or print was left on the cutting room floor in this colourful patchwork Kenzo gown that brought something of a tribal Mayan mood to the red carpet.

There was a lot of fabric and many layers that Rosario’s MIA figure had to swim through for this look.

Did she make it work for you?

Rosario Dawson In Roksanda – Netflix’s ‘Marvel’s Daredevil’ LA Premiere

Rosario Dawson In Roksanda - Netflix's 'Marvel's Daredevil' LA Premiere

Rosario Dawson attended the premiere of Netflix’s ‘Marvel’s Daredevil’ at Regal Cinemas L.A. Live, on Thursday (April 2) in Los Angeles, California.

The actress, as always, fully embraced colour, selecting a dress from colour-block Queen Roksanda’s Spring 2015 collection.

Rosario opted not to wear the dress with the runway belt, which I felt lends a sleek finish to the look.

Rosario’s Tamara Mellon ‘Tiger’ sandals also received the colour-block treatment, as did her Edie Parker clutch, and while I love the enthusiasm for colour-blocking here, I am also wondering is there such a thing as too much colour-blocking?

I’m undecided, as part of me thinks I would’ve preferred the shoes to have been a solid colour, feeling that they are somewhat upstaging the dress.

You can buy Rosario’s Roksanda Draped Colour Block Dress from Selfridges.
