Lisa Kudrow & Mira Sorvino Bring Romy and Michele to D23

Lisa Kudrow and Mira Sorvino brought character dressing to Disney’s D23 Expo, where they reunited to promote the upcoming Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion sequel.

And really, could there have been a more fun way to announce their return?

Rather than simply arriving as Lisa and Mira, the actresses gave us Romy and Michele in full fashion mode, wearing costumes from the upcoming film. The pastel palette, playful accessories, matching bags, pink tights, silver boots and unapologetically girly styling immediately transported us back into their world.

Considering how much fashion defined the original film, this was exactly the kind of introduction the sequel needed. You see them together and instantly understand who they are supposed to be before they even say a word.

It also raises an interesting question about what happens once the promotional tour begins. We’ve become accustomed to celebrities referencing their characters through method dressing, but Lisa and Mira have the opportunity to take that concept somewhere much more playful because Romy and Michele already have such a distinctive fashion identity.

So, do you think D23 will be a one-off because they were introducing the sequel in character, or can you see Lisa Kudrow and Mira Sorvino keeping the Romy and Michele aesthetic going throughout the promo tour?

I have a feeling this will be a one-off, but I certainly wouldn’t be opposed to seeing them keep it going when the film is released in 2027.
