Cardi B In Vintage Mugler – 2019 Grammy Performance and Acceptance

Cardi B In Vintage Mugler - 2019 Grammy Performance and Acceptance

Those who were living for the theatricality of Cardi B’s Vintage Mugler Haute Couture red carpet look should be delighted that she wore four different outfits from the designer’s archive to the 2019 Grammys on Sunday (February 10).

It marked the second time in 25 years that the house presented several archival looks to a celebrity.

For her performance, the rapper was in top showgirl form in Vintage Mugler Fall 1995. It was a performance piece in every sense of the word with the purple duchess satin and black velvet coat providing an attention-grabbing frame for the coordinating rhinestone-embellished bodysuit.

The animal print and graphic embellishment played into her aesthetic and felt very modern finish.

Cardi B In Vintage Mugler Haute Couture -2019 Grammy Awards

Fashion Blogger Catherine Kallon features Cardi B In Vintage Mugler Haute Couture -2019 Grammy Awards

So far, Cardi B takes the prize for the most elaborate outfit at a relatively conservative 2019 Grammy Awards on Sunday (February 10) in L.A.

This vintage Mugler Fall 1995 Haute Couture design was every bit as fetishistic and theatrical as the day it debuted on the runway.

And, yes, it’s every bit the performance piece that simultaneously captures the essence of a Vegas showgirl and ‘The Birth of Venus’ Renaissance painting.

I will not even ask the question to how she sat down, being half-emerged from the satiny-pink shell.

Miley Cyrus In Mugler – 2019 Grammy Awards

I was pleasantly surprised upon seeing Miley Cyrus on the red carpet of the 2019 Grammy Awards on Sunday (February 10) in L.A.

Rather than the shock factor that we can sometimes still associate with the star, she wore a relatively chic and simple Mugler Pre-Fall 2019 suit. It was almost like the phase-two continuation of her 2018 Grammys look.

However, this was no ordinary suit, as there more provocative detail in the purposefully long sleeves and flared trousers ensured plenty of progressive personality.

The tailoring also left plenty of room to allow for an endless row of Loree Rodkin earrings and the same number of rings.

2019 Roc Nation THE BRUNCH

Fashion Blogger Catherine Kallon features 2019 Roc Nation THE BRUNCH

There were many more stars who joined Beyonce Knowles and Jay-Z at the 2019 Roc Nation THE BRUNCH event on Saturday (February 9) in Los Angeles, California.

Pusha T: The rapper joined Jay-Z by rocking at light blue suit. You should recognise this Alexander McQueen look, as it was first worn by Timothée Chalamet during the San Sebastian Film Festival back in September. Like Timothée, Pusha T also opted for sneakers.

Janelle Monáe: Mixing colour via Emanuel Ungaro, with her signature black and white, the actress proves that pigeonholing her style-wise isn’t a smart move.

Gal Gadot In Mugler – ‘Ralph Breaks The Internet’ London Premiere

Gal Gadot In Mugler - 'Ralph Breaks The Internet' London Premiere

Gal Gadot was in London on Sunday (November 26) for the premiere of ‘Ralph Breaks The Internet’ held at The Curzon Mayfair.

Strong silhouettes define Mugler tailoring as demonstrated in this two-piece.

In a vivid maroon hue, it contrasts padded shoulders and sharply peaked lapels with a cinched-in waist for a flatteringly slim fit.

As contemporary as this look is, I wish the fabric had been as sleek as the sharp cut of this suit.

Rita Ora In Vintage Thierry Mugler Couture – 2018 Evening Standard Theatre Awards

Rita Ora In Vintage Mugler Couture - 2018 Evening Standard Theatre Awards

If we were to tally up all the celebrities who have attended events this year, I’m certain Rita Ora would come out on top, by some distance.

Her latest event was the 2018 Evening Standard Theatre Awards on Sunday (November 18) in London.

Never one to shy away from a daring look, Rita donned a pale pink archive Thierry Mugler Couture gown imbued with vintage glamour.

I love how the pale pink feathers formed to create a dramatic collar around neck, yet the look felt so soft and elegant at the same time.

While I wasn’t crazy about her last outing. This fared much better.
