Front Row @ Louis Vuitton Fall 2024
Having embarked on a ten-year adventure with Louis Vuitton, Nicolas Ghesquière considered the journey in retrospect, with memory as the guide for imagination for this Fall 2024 collection.
In this exploration of introspection, memories resurface as a stratification of emotions, reflections, and references… A special collection that, while situated in the seasonality of Fall 2024, also bears witness to a decade of fashion.
The collection was presented in the Cour Carrée at the Louvre, an iconic venue for Louis Vuitton shows and the place where Nicolas Ghesquière presented his first collection exactly ten years ago, on March 5th, 2014, with a front row including house ambassadors and friends of the house.
Jennifer Connelly (naturally) and Da’Vine Joy Randolph stood out for me with their directional looks.
I wish Emma Stone’s LV look had been one colour. I’m not sold on Jurnee Smollett bringing the white tight trend to Louis Vuitton.
I’m not sure that Sarah Paulson and Lashana Lynch sold those layered skirt to me.
We had reruns from Cate Blanchett who reworked her 2023 Oscar look, and Lisa who wore the same Louis Vuitton Spring 2018 embroidered tailcoat worn by Karlie Kloss back in 2018.
I wasn’t sold on the Sandra Hüller and Saoirse Ronan’s striped looks, or styling of Millie Bobby Brown’s mini dress.
Who stood out for you?
