Gong Jun Wore Jason Wu Collection To The ‘Indiana Jones And The Dial Of Destiny’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere

I was working the menswear roundup, and the first look which caught my eye was Gong Jun who attended the ‘Indiana Jones And The Dial Of Destiny’ Cannes Film Festival premiere with Elaine Zhong Chuxi, and decided that this look needed its own spotlight.

The actor wore a custom Jason Wu Collection suit.

This appeared to be something of a passion project for the designer, as this was his first foray into menswear.

Jason Wu said on Instagram, “This is a very special and personal project as it is my first menswear design and that it reflects the beauty and exquisite cultural significance of both of our Chinese heritage. It is incredible to showcase this unprecedented collaboration on such an international stage. I am so proud.”

He should be immensely proud, as this was one of the best menswear looks of the entire event so far.

I love the rich embroidery, Jason’s new style of menswear collar and the frog (a knob made of intricately knotted strings) which holds the jacket together.

Thankfully no black shoes were present on this red carpet. 

Will Gong Jun and Elaine Zhong Chuxi be crowned the best dressed couple of the festival (if they are indeed a couple)?
