2022 SAG Awards Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

Here is a roundup from the gents who attended the 2022 SAG Awards on Sunday (February 27) in Los Angeles.
We have to start with the man of the night. Will Smith who picked up the Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role for ‘King Richard.’
He wore a custom midnight blue Dolce & Gabbana suit that featured a double breasted waistcoat which I’ve never seen before.
I love that Jada Pinkett Smith complemented her husband wearing a vintage Gareth Pugh gown.
Usually I prefer Jada in bright colours as that’s always been her style. But they look amazing together. There is so much beauty in this harmony.

Andrew Garfield was one of my favourites on the night wearing Saint Laurent.
As someone who loves a slim-fit suit, I found myself admiring the wide leg trousers.
Is Andrew about to start a new trend?
Anthony Vaccarello has made it his life’s work to make slim-fit trousers slimmer, so I enjoyed this change of pace.
Andrew completed his look with an OMEGA De Ville Prestige timepiece.

Everything about this Kodi Smit-McPhee’s look screams Dior Men, and I’m here for it.
All white was a bold move, but I think he totally owned this look.

Kid Cudi wore a richly embroidered Louis Vuitton suit which he styled with LV Volt Fine Jewelry.
I really like the asymmetrical kit-style layer, but I wasn’t the biggest fan of his choice of Off-White sneakers.
I think a crisp white pair would’ve worked better here.

Oscar Isaac kept things interesting wearing a custom Prada cacao brown blazer with a lilac shirt and matching bow tie.
While I love how unpredictable this look was when paired with black trousers, I kinda wish that they were also in cacao brown.
Thoughts?

‘Ted Lasso’ star Toheeb Jimoh, who was also in London with Hannah Waddingham, was looking very sharp in his Dolce & Gabbana bright blue Sicilia-fit suit.
I’m here for the exaggerated peak lapels, and purple silk satin Martini-fit shirt.
He finished his look with Dolce & Gabbana black velvet loafers and DG logo necklace.
Let’s keep this purple shirt trending fellas.

I’m usually a fan of Jamie Dornan’s style, but between the grey and the length of the trousers, I wasn’t sold on this Brunello Cucinelli tuxedo from the Spring 2022 Evening collection.
Manolo Blanhik ‘Witney’ shoes and an Omega Constellation Globemaster timepiece completed his look.

I was practically salivating over Paul W. Downs in this dunhill ink blue suit which featured a relaxed half wrap jacket, silk band collar shirt and wide leg trousers.
Relaxed, yet so smart, and endlessly suave.
I’m obsessed with this.

Billy Crudup is my favourite star from ‘The Morning Show.’
My sister always teases me that I smile like a Cheshire cat whenever he comes on the screen. The man has charisma.
Attending with Naomi Watts, the actor was looking ever so handsome wearing a classic Armani suit.
The tailoring is something else here. And I adore the matte lapels.
Armani really does keep reinventing the wheel when it comes to their tuxedos. They will always find something, even if it’s microscopic, to make these pieces stand out.

I was really excited about Aaron Dominguez’s Fendi Fall 2022 suit, until I saw how tight the trousers were.
Had he opted for the fit on the runway, this would’ve been a more successful outing.
This is a real shame as I adore the cropped jacket and the Fendi Baguette bag.
Jimmy Choo ‘Jun’ boots completed his look.

Jeremy Strong keeps the velvet suiting trend alive wearing this custom Prada mauve suit.
I keep thinking what other shirt and bow tie combos would’ve worked instead of off-white.

There was a mini ‘Scandal’ reunion between Tony Goldwyn and Kerry Washington who presented together on stage at this event.
He was looking very debonair wearing a dark blue Armani double breasted suit.

Ross Butler, the SAG Awards ambassador, opted to spice things up when it came to classic suiting, by wearing this Emporio Armani suit which featured opulent silver embroidery.

Sacha Dhawan looked very handsome wearing his Kingsman velvet jacket, black tuxedo trousers and Kingsman + George Cleverley Oxford shoes.
I love that the British actor and his girlfriend Anjli Mohindra were perfectly coordinated in green.

A rich blue velvet Dolce & Gabbana suit? Is Jon Bernthal trying to kill me?
This custom look is so smooth. James Bond smooth.
The actor showed his support for Ukraine with his yellow and blue pin.

Ian Bohen made quite a statement wearing this Dolce & Gabbana purple floral jacquard tuxedo suit.
Once again, I’m picturing a different colour shirt and tie combo (Oscar Issac had opened that door for me).
Light blue perhaps?

‘The Morning Show’ actor Desean Terry proved that mens accessories should never be overlooked as his Cicada Jewelry diamond and sapphire Salamander brooch added a unique touch to his Alexander McQueen tuxedo.
A Rolex Cellini timepiece completed his look.

Kevin Costner kept things classic in Brioni paired with David Yurman jewels and Christian Louboutin ‘Greggo’ shoes, while his wife Christine Costner was a vision wearing a Tony Ward coral sheer embroidered gown.

Javier Bardem in Zegna was another classic case of, “I wish the trousers matched the blazer.”
But at least he opted for something in a colour other than navy or black.
The only thing missing here was his wife Penelope Cruz in Atelier Versace. (A girl can dream).
