Gillian Anderson Wore Christian Dior Haute Couture To The 2021 Critics’ Choice Awards

Gillian Anderson was the crowned Best Supporting Actress in a Drama series for ‘The Crown’ at the 2021 Critics’ Choice Awards on Sunday (March 7).

A black suit doesn’t always grab my attention, but the British actress opted to wear a Dior Spring 2018 Haute Couture suit which enlivens classic tailoring.

While Dior is particularly good at serving up classics, the cape jacket with wide satin cuir lapels offers a level of sartorial interest that is distinctly eye-catching, as the architectural shape allows for a visually intriguing look that subverts the norm.

I was excited to learn that this design was inspired by the Autumn-Winter 1950 collection.
