‘The World To Come’ Venice Film Festival Photocall & Premiere

'The World To Come' Venice Film Festival Photocall & Premiere

Vanessa Kirby and Katherine Waterston

Vanessa Kirby and Katherine Waterston attended the photocall and premiere for ‘The World To Come’ during the 2020 Venice Film Festival on Sunday (September 6) in Italy.

If you’re looking for drama and sequins, this won’t be the post for you.

But if simple, timeless elegance is more your style.  You’re in the right place.

Vanessa Kirby: After giving us two Valentino dresses which relied on solid colour for the ‘Pieces Of A Woman’ Venice Film Festival photocall and premiere, Vanessa wore this chic look from Giorgio Armani which gave us a dominate pattern.  I love how this is has a very professional feel, so it should provide some back-to-work inspo. Or, considering that jeweled collar, this could even provides some Zoom style inspo too.

Katherine Waterston:  The British actress used to work Ryan Hastings (also known as the man behind Rooney Mara and Carey Mulligan’s red carpet ensembles).  Despite now working with Danielle Goldberg, she has stayed true to her either a black or white colour palette.  This Prada white poplin compact shirt and skirt from the Resort 2021 collection, which was styled with black suede pumps, is very much in tune with her red carpet M.O.  No fuss.

Vanessa Kirby: The British actress – who now works with stylist Ryan Hastings – wore a second Armani look, this time from the Armani Prive Fall 2019 collection that follows on from her ‘Pieces Of A Woman’ Venice Film Festival premiere, where it was all about the sharp, clean cuts.  I love how the collarless construction of blazer offers a conceptual take on classic tailoring. No accessories were needed.

Katherine Waterston:  As I said above, if it ain’t white, it’s black. Reaching for Prada again, this dress at least had more detail thanks to the fringed design of this Fall 2020 black velvet dress.

Simple chic looks. Nothing exciting but done well.

Apart from removing the ankle straps on the shoes of Vanessa’s photocall outfit, I wouldn’t change a thing about these looks.

They both look good. Nothing exceptionally exciting, but solid, flattering looks. I like everything they’re wearing—I just wish there were more elevated styling details thrown in.

I love all of these. Especially the fringey Prada.

Obsessing over VK’s looks. I know she has 2 movies really well received at the festival so we may see lots of red carpet appearances come awards season, which is exciting, if she keeps up this run of looks.

They both look great. I’d change nothing in either.

Carey Mulligan hasn’t worked with Ryan Hastings in quite a while, Petra Flannery has been her stylist for five years now! Katherine Waterston isn’t a R. Hastings client anymore either, she switched stylists to Danielle Goldberg (best known for styling Laura Harrier) about two years ago. Vanessa Kirby on the other hand is actually being styled by Ryan Hastings (who also styles Rosamund Pike, Natalie Portman, Elizabeth Olsen, Mia Goth these days).

I like all of these looks, especially Katherine’s. The photocall look is soo chic and the premiere look is kinda cool as well.

Katherine is working with Danielle Goldberg this time around (at least she did for Venice). Vanessa is now working with Ryan Hastings (DEF seeing his minimalist influence in her looks over the past year or 2).

BTW hope that comment didn’t sound rude–it’s your website that has made me pay attention to stylists now and follow them and their influence on their clients!

Not rude at all. Thank you. I really appreciate this information.
