Joey King isn’t a new star to hit the carpet by any means, as the young actress has been gracing the red carpet since I started this website in 2008.
The reason I see her as one to watch in 2020, is because of her successful transition from child star to young actress, and the super chic red carpet looks she presented this year.
There can be many pitfall during this transition. One is that the styling can become too mature too fast. My example of this would be Hailee Steinfeld. I love her style now, but her transition was way too quick. One day she was wearing a gorgeous red Michael Kors gown to the 2015 Met Gala, the next I knew she was wearing a sheer Elie Saab gown to the 2016 Vanity Fair Oscar party.
The other side is that some never want to leave that sweet 16 state of mind, and things start to look too twee.
Joey has successfully swerved both of those traps.
She easily moved from being graceful in Zac Posen at the Emmys, to edgy in Richard Quinn at the Elle Women In Hollywood event.
Colour and prints were never an issue. In fact you can count one hand the amount of times she wore an LBD.
