Variety’s 2019 Power Of Women: Los Angeles

Variety’s 2019 Power Of Women: Los Angeles took place at the Beverly Wilshire Four Seasons Hotel on Friday (October 11) in California, with a host of gorgeous leading ladies.

Mariah Carey: None more gorgeous than Mariah Carey. My love and biased is probably going to get in the way here, but I think this is possibly the best that the singer has ever looked.

Brie Larson: The actress wore a Rosetta Getty Resort 2020 three-piece look.  The designer is known for creating minimalist pieces which applies to this look, but I wish the trousers had been longer.  I’m not the biggest fan of flared trousers which stop above the ankles.

Joey King: The young star wore a flirty Alaia Pre-Fall 2019 LBD, which was styled with some punchy accessories including studded pumps and opulent gold earrings.

Natalie Portman: If red and black was the theme of the night, then Brie Larson and Natalie Portman were very much in-sync – it must be a Marvel thing.  Taking a night off Dior, the actress kept things simple wearing a Celine sweater and trouser combo with flats and Anita Ko plain twisted hoops.  I usually find myself on the fence, or just accepting what Natalie presents, but for something so simple, I have to say this is one of her best looks of 2019.

Natasha Lyonne:   Despite always feeling that Natasha is always trying just a little too hard, the actress pulled off this Gucci head-to-toe look without it feeling comical.

Molly Sims:  This Silvia Tcherassi ‘Gorel’ dress was oozing plenty of flair thanks to the puffed sleeves and contrasting pink lining.  Molly always dresses with soft femininity in mind.  This was right on brand for her.

Awkwafina:  You may feel like this Pyer Moss Spring 2020 shirt dress is a little out-of-place at this event, but I feel like this perfectly suits Awkwafina’s persona, plus she has the attitude to pull it off – even if I dislike the Sam Edelman shoes here. A yellow Edie Parker clutch completed her look.

Jennifer Aniston: Even with the stripes and the navy blue colour, I’m still feeling a huge sense of familiarity within this Alexander McQueen look.
