The Hollywood Reporter’s Power 100 Women In Entertainment

Fashion Blogger Catherine Kallon feature The Hollywood Reporter's Power 100 Women In Entertainment

Lupita Nyong’o was joined on the red carpet for The Hollywood Reporter’s Power 100 Women In Entertainment event on Wednesday (December 5) in Los Angeles, California, by a host of lovely ladies.

Amandla Stenberg: The young actress continues to have fun with fashion. This time she wore a Sies Marjan Fall 2018 striped suit which was oversized, but not outsized. The pretty pink hue ensured a feminine vibe.

Danai Gurira: The actress is back to wearing bold colour, and I couldn’t be happier. While I love the draping of this Poiret Spring 2019 dress, I prefer how this dress was presented on the runway.

Awkwafina: I surprised that even with this cheery bug-print MSGM top and skirt that the actress still can’t raise a smile.

22nd Annual Hollywood Film Awards

22nd Annual Hollywood Film Awards

The busy weekend of events saw more celebs join Nicole Kidman and Anne Hathaway on the red carpet for the 22nd Annual Hollywood Film Awards on Sunday (November 4) in LA.

Shailene Woodley: In recent times when I see Shailene, I feel like I should know her style by now, but it’s like she’s in the development–experimental stage at present. For example, back in 2014 when she was promoting ‘Divergent’ I don’t think she would’ve worn this Ralph & Russo jacket and shorts combo. While the look does feel fresh and new, I found the sleeves overwhelming here. Yvan Tufenkjian earrings and Christian Louboutin ‘So Kate’ pumps completed her look.

Janelle Monae: I always feel like there is a theme going on with Janelle, and on this occasion I love the ’60s mod theme imbued within her tri-colour The 2nd Skin Co. dress complete with white go-go boots.

Sophia Bush: I adore the luxe texture of her animal print A.L.C. suit, but the pink ADEAM bag was an eyesore with this look. Sophia’s accessories are usually on point, so I’m really disappointed on this occasion.

Awkwafina In Antonio Marras – 4th Annual Asian World Film Festival

Awkwafina In Antonio Marras - 4th Annual Asian World Film Festival

I always assumed that once the promo tours for ‘Ocean’s 8’ and ‘Crazy Rich Asians’ would finish, that Awkwafina would return to her original style, then I realised that I didn’t actually know what that was, and that an assumption had been made.

Based on her Antonio Marras Resort 2018 floral lace dress worn to the 4th Annual Asian World Film Festival closing night screening Of ‘In Harm’s Way’ on Thursday (November 01)in California, it suggests that uber feminine frocks oozing with charm is her style.

I like how the sheer hem gives the look an edge, and that she opted for a pop of colour via her footwear.

Awkwafina joined Jing Lusi, Constance Wu and Gemma Chan for the special screening of ‘Crazy Rich Asians’ on Tuesday (September 4) in London.

Bold colours and sleek silhouettes are the calling cards of John Paul Ataker, and both come to the fore in this dress.
