June 18, 2019 Runway To Red Carpet

(The Future Queen) Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge Finally Wears Elie Saab (Red Carpet King) To Royal Ascot

Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge in Elie Saab - 2019 Royal Ascot

Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge joined Prince William, Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall for one of biggest royal events of the year today (June 18) – Royal Ascot.

The annual five-day horse racing competition takes place every June, and it sees the finest clothes, biggest hats and prettiest dresses showcased through the event.

You could’ve worn the biggest hat known to mankind, but all eyes would’ve been on Catherine today.

It seems like quite a momentous occasion as this was the first time that the Duchess had worn Elie Saab.

I may not have the same close relationship with the brand since I returned to blogging, but I still have a lot of affection towards the brand, and I can only imagine what a huge moment this was for Mr Saab.

He has probably dressed every royal at this point, but Catherine would’ve been on his wish list.

The royal wore a corydalis blue, macramĂ© pussy bow dress with a-line skirt  inspired by the Resort 2019 collection with a matching Philip Treacy hat embroidered with flower detailing.

I was delighted to see that Catherine was carrying the SAME Elie Saab clutch that I have, with the rest of the styling including complementary Kiki McDonough matching earrings, new silver Gianvito Rossi pumps (I almost died), an elegant updo and her ever present engagement ring.

This look was infinity better than yesterdays.

Do you agree?

Sorry this took so long to post, it’s my sister birthday, and I had been out all day.

I adore this! The colour, the style, the accessories… she looks radiant!

Lovely. A personal best for her.

I don’t get this website’s obsession with her… Her style is the most boring/predictable of all the people featured here…

I don’t understand the royals’ obsession with matchy-matchy in their styling. The hat and the dress in the same color is just so dull and dowdy.

This is possibly my favorite look from her! She finally finally got it right. Thank you to Mr. Saab for designing such a lovely dress, it’s to die for! The styling is such an upgrade from her usual taste. The shoes, the hat! A+

She looks like a grandmother. She always dresses too old for her age.

    She looks fantastic.

  9. Guest June 19, 2019 at 11:31 am #

    Beautiful but a touch mumsy.

Love the color, but the top of that dress is way too busy! Remove the bow and most of the lace trim, and it would be lovely.

Best look ever for Catherine… I adore this! ??????

    Happy birthday to your sister!
And thanks again for all you do – especially on family days. We appreciate every post, but also understand you have a life outside the site 🙂

The flower is an overkill for me, but why is she not always dressing like this??? She would be unstoppable!

yes, she finally wears Elie Saab but she managed to pick the most old-fashioned dress possible!

While I still a believer of British Royals should be in UK related labels or designers, I do think she looks great here. Plus silver pumps *whah*.
    Happy birthday to your sister.

    This is everything!
Just perfect, and perfect for her!
It has loveliness and sophistication written all over!

This is an improvement from yesterday’s outfit. However, I feel like the neck bow was not necessary. I wished she had used a different top because I loved the dots skirt. Further, I think the most exciting thing about this look are her shiny shoes. I am happy she did not wear blue, black, or nude shoes for once. Her hat though it is the same she worn a few years ago to the Trooping of tue Colour.

It’s good for her standards but it’s still matronly. I wish she would go back to showcasing her long, shiny hair. It would make the outfits more youthful but matronly hairstyles don’t help a matronly dress.

I did say yesterday I think she’s begun to turn a corner. I get there feeling that she has done her duty… Had the children, dressed the mom part… She’s now in her late thirties, and she’s going to start to kick it up a notch.

So dainty and lovely. I love the hat with it. I love the flow of the skirt.
The earrings are pretty, and the shoes are new!!
    Its a win.

Such an amazing put together outfit. Perfect colour, stunningly beautiful dress that fits so well, great millinery and those shoes are gorgeous. Kate is pure class and I was so excited seeing this.

Side note – happy birthday to your sister Catherine.

This is so gorgeous. I kind of wish she had worn the lookbook version with the shorter sleeves and belt. But it doesn’t matter because it’s still so lovely.

I hope she she continues to wear Elie Saab

  23. Guest June 18, 2019 at 11:35 pm #

Beautiful dress, YASS! But I think the hat with the flower is an overkill; sans flower would have been so much better. I do love the lookbook version more. Sleeves are kinda aging on the duchess.

I guess at the Ascot more is more, so I’m fine with the hat 🙂

  24. Guest June 18, 2019 at 11:16 pm #

I’d rank this as one of her best ever. She always ups her game at Ascot.

Happy birthday day to your sister. ?

  25. _Hannah_ June 18, 2019 at 11:12 pm #

It simply gorgeous! Interesting, youthful and summery. And those silver shoes. Love it.

  26. Guest June 18, 2019 at 11:12 pm #

I am no major fan of the Duchess’s style normally, but she really brought it here. Fab dress, hat, hair, shoes, everything!

  27. Guest June 18, 2019 at 10:43 pm #

She looks beautiful and I love all of this, especially the silver shoes. Catherine looks radiant and elegant. Class personified

    Absolutely gorgeous.

This is so delightful. Such a pretty dress for summertime and it’s very well styled. The duchess looks as beautiful as ever.
