It was a very special night for the House of Givenchy, as Clare Waight Keller was named on the TIME 100 list of the most influential people in the world at the annual gala on Tuesday (April 23) in New York City.
She was joined on the red carpet by Julianne Moore, and Rami Malek who was also honoured as TIME 100’s most influential Artists, notably for his Best Actor Oscar win for his portrayal of the legendary Freddie Mercury in ‘Bohemian Rhapsody.’
Julianne Moore: The actress, who can count Givenchy as one of her favourite brands, wore a look from the Spring 2019 Haute Couture collection. Originally presented with shorts, Julianne gave the off white jacket embroidered with beads, crystals and striped feathers, a whole new look and feel with sharp slacks. Julianne has always had a love affair with feathers, so I wasn’t surprised to see that this was an option for her.
Clare Waight Keller: Sticking to customary black, the designer has had an amazing rise since being named as the designer of Meghan Markle’s wedding gown. I used to work at Pringle of Scotland when she was head designer, so I have followed her journey since then, and it fills me with pride to see her finally getting the recognition she deserves. Also in a Spring 2019 Haute Couture look consisting of a bodysuit and peplum trouser combo, the embellishments add just a touch of pizzazz for this glamorous occasion.
Rami Malek: Like Julianne, the actor is no stranger to Givenchy. The Fall 2019 look fits perfectly into his less is more, modern approach to red carpet dressing.
