Sarah Paulson In Prada – ‘Glass’ London Premiere

Fashion Blogger Catherine Kallon features Sarah Paulson In Prada - 'Glass' London Premiere

Sarah Paulson graced the red carpet at the ‘Glass’ London premiere alongside Anya Taylor-Joy on Wednesday (January 9).

I know a lot of you were totally underwhelmed by the Golden Globes, so Sarah is here to give you the fashion moment you’ve been craving since the turn of the year.

Now isn’t this the best red carpet gown you are likely to see in 2019?

Prada, what can I say? You knocked it out of the ball-park. I can’t remember the last time I was left so in awe of a Prada look.

The mix of colours, and fiery hem – inspired by the Spring 2012 – serves up a romantic impression with a fashion forward edge which I immediately bookmarked into my BDOTY list.

The styling really made me swoon with a green Edie Parker ‘Mini Lara’ clutch and Irene Neuwirth One of a Kind earrings.

Brian Atwood ‘Karin’ platform pumps may not be to everyone’s taste, but the unconventional hue was perfect for this dress.

Pulling it off like I don’t think anyone else could. Won’t be caught alive on my BDOTY long-list, but have a feeling I will still remember it by the end of the year.

I am in the Love camp. I love it; I dislike the shoes but everything else is spot on……..I still prefer the green/yellow outfit from last year but this is a very good look

  3. Jennifer M January 12, 2019 at 1:20 am #

Wait I just saw the shoes. This just got went from cheap to awful into Katy Perry zone. I’m surprised this actually ISNT Jeremy Scott.

  4. Jennifer M January 12, 2019 at 1:19 am #

The styling is good for what it is. But I’m sorry. It looks like cheap Moschino/Jeremy Scott to me. The only thing I admire from this is are the stunning earrings and incredible hair. The dress itself is rather ugly and tacky.

  5. moonbeam January 12, 2019 at 1:09 am #

This looks like a cheap Halloween costume. I’m not understanding the hype here.

  6. TinaL January 11, 2019 at 6:54 am #

No, don’t like it. It looks like a cheaply made barbie dress

  7. Fee January 10, 2019 at 9:08 pm #

I love this and Sarah wears it with aplomb. On someone else this could be a disaster.

  8. Kath Slater January 10, 2019 at 8:10 pm #

OMG OMG OMG OMG.. this is so usual. like whats the hype about?

  9. Kath Slater January 10, 2019 at 8:09 pm #

  10. Chris January 10, 2019 at 4:43 pm #

    I totally do love it!
It doesn’t beat her green Prada from last year for me, but it is another really amazing Sarah x Prada moment.

  11. meme January 10, 2019 at 2:46 pm #

Ugh. This is hideous and those shoes are worse. Neck up though, she looks great.

  12. Vizual Ninja January 10, 2019 at 2:41 pm #

I’m on the fence. I like the lilac colour and appreciate her usual quirkiness but I get what others are saying about the flames on the dress, it makes it a bit too cheesy and costumey. I also don’t like the hairstyle.

  13. faellie January 10, 2019 at 2:06 pm #

I like the colours. But the bodice looks uncomfortably tight.

  14. AnnieOh January 10, 2019 at 1:58 pm #

I think this is amazing– I’m not quite sure I’m on the BDOTY bandwagon, but I love the color, the styling, her poise. Beautiful.

  15. Miss H January 10, 2019 at 11:23 am #

Ohhh I love this! The colours… those earrings… it is all fantastic!

  16. Rox January 10, 2019 at 10:59 am #

Yes, yes, yes! I’ve been craving all week for something like this!

  17. Andrea January 10, 2019 at 9:10 am #

I love the flames, the colour and the perfect styling. Very big impact and lots of fun!

  18. Fiona-Brasil January 10, 2019 at 9:06 am #

LOL!Stunning in a weird good way!

  19. aa January 10, 2019 at 8:33 am #

I like this! It suits Sarah’s personality. The only thing I would change is the hairstyle.

  20. TeaAtTwo January 10, 2019 at 8:03 am #

It’s interesting and different but no way near on par with her neon Prada dress at the Ocean’s 8 world premiere last year. I love the earrings.

  21. Kimma January 10, 2019 at 6:21 am #

Bless her for brightening a week of play safe fashion choices! I adore it.

  22. vicky January 10, 2019 at 6:20 am #

First thought was “prom-dress”, second “dated” and finally I landed with “meh”.
The dress is too long, hemline pattern is not to my liking, bad choice in fabric and then the mix of colors. It’s all too much.
Like the majority of comments, not even BDOTW worthy, sorry.

Waist up she’s gorgeous though! Especially with that (hopefully, fake) fur coat.

  23. Leila January 10, 2019 at 6:20 am #

Don’t like the coral pattern on the gown

  24. Jas January 10, 2019 at 6:17 am #

OMG I loved this collection in 2012 and I love it again now. I love it – twee kitschy-ness and all! Sarah looks like she is loving herself sick too.
(If I were to nitpick, it is a bit too long)

  25. Eni January 10, 2019 at 5:32 am #

The length totally ruins it for me + the material just looks cheap.

BDOTY? This is not even on my BDOTW list.

    • brat January 10, 2019 at 5:48 am #

I know Catherine loves color but this is so garish and cheap looking. Reminds me of a racing car motif. She looks like she’s on the red carpet of Disneyland’s California Adventure.

It’s dreadful, I loathe this dress. Worst dressed of the week and possibly year. Yucky isn’t the word.

      • JHH January 10, 2019 at 5:30 pm #

I love color and unexpected color combinations so I really want to like this dress but there is just so much wrong with this look that I can’t. The dress is too long. The bodice is too tight. The hairstyle is not good and last but not least are the Godawful shoes. Sarah can and has done way, way better than this but it’s like there is a school of thought that this is Sarah Paulson and can do no fashion wrong even when she does.

  26. Susie January 10, 2019 at 4:55 am #

It’s definitely an…interesting gown. But design and color clash aside, the wrinkled pooling hem at the bottom is bothering me.

  27. JHH January 10, 2019 at 4:45 am #

FC: Now isn’t this the best red carpet gown you are likely to see in 2019?
Me: I sure hope not. Cause if this is the best 2019 is going to be a very bad year.

    • brat January 10, 2019 at 5:59 am #

i feel exactly the same way, may she never torture my eyes again this way. I’ve seen halloween costumes that looked better quality.

    • justme January 10, 2019 at 8:29 am #

Lol my thoughts exactly. The colors are awful and the styling doesn’t improve matters.

      • brat January 10, 2019 at 3:31 pm #

I cannot believe this is being compared to her brilliant and sophisticated lime green outing from last year.

  28. Real Nat39 January 10, 2019 at 4:38 am #

Wow, those colors, the color-coordinated styling…glad those ugly platforms do not show (but needed for the height) under the gown, def. goes on my potential BDOTY worthy watch.

  29. Lashae January 10, 2019 at 4:07 am #

She looks fantastic, love this dress and the earrings very much. But the only problem I have with this look is her hair, the top knot is just not a look for the red carpet.

  30. Kathy January 10, 2019 at 3:52 am #

Oh I LOVE this. Just the right amount of kitsch.

    • Adrian January 12, 2019 at 12:19 pm #

      +1 that description nails it

  31. HL January 10, 2019 at 3:36 am #

As a whole, the colour combination is good. But the print is just ugly!!!
The pattern really looks like the thing you can find on some cheap racing cars, if you know what I mean.

    • Jas January 10, 2019 at 6:15 am #

That was the whole point of the 2012 collection lol

    • Charlotte January 10, 2019 at 7:34 am #

      My thought exactly !
This is so tacky and cheap looking, it is a rare miss for Sarah IMO.

  32. Taylor Davis January 10, 2019 at 3:29 am #

    Oh my GOD. I’m gobsmakced.

  33. Jax January 10, 2019 at 3:24 am #

Sarah is one of my favorite fashion ladies and can do no wrong in my book, however I’m not sold on this look. The flames, colors, and material cheapen the gown for me.

Im speechless. Amazed and completely surprised. Of course Paulson had incredible moments but this is… beyond.

    Everything works. HEAD TO TOE.
