M.I.A. In Burberry - 'MATANGI / MAYA / M.I.A' London Premiere

Maya Arulpragasam aka M.I.A. attended the London premiere of ‘MATANGI / MAYA / M.I.A’ at The Curzon Mayfair on Wednesday (September 19).

The rapper is the first to wear a look from Riccardo Tisci’s 48-hour old, Spring 2019 collection for Burberry, which was marks his debut.

While Bryan Boy has liken this collection to Hugo Boss, I feel like there is plenty that will appeal to the traditional Burberry customer, but Maya’s fawn print oversized trench, layered over a matching blouse with patches bearing deer portraits definitely had an urbane feel.

I’m curious to see what the Kardashian’s do with this collection as they are best buds with Riccardo, but looking through this collection, it ain’t really their style.

Catherine, what did you think of the Burberry collection?

The whole collection was very pared back, which I think must have been deliberate, a sort of palette cleanser after Balmain. That being said, I actually adore the fawn print and I would go so far to say as it will become iconic. Very British, very print-y, perfectly Burberry really.

    MIA looks lovely in this.

I am gonna have to say pass on this outfit — way too much fawn print for me. I am sort of creeped out by it. Maybe broken up as accent pieces this will be okay.

Not as a head to toe look but I think pieces would work for some of them and I wouldn’t be surprised if they customised stuff. Even just the B t-shirt and wear it tied up or as a dress.
