Olivia Hamilton In Lela Rose & J. Mendel – ‘First Man’ Venice Film Festival Photocall, Premiere & Opening Ceremony

Olivia Hamilton In Lela Rose & J. Mendel - ‘First Man’ Venice Film Festival Premiere & Opening Ceremony

Olivia Hamilton joined Claire Foy and Ryan Gosling on the red carpet for the photocall earlier this afternoon, before the opening ceremony and the ‘First Man’ premiere during the 2018 Venice Film Festival this evening (August 29) in Italy.

Photocall: The heatwave has unfortunately waved goodbye to London, so her Lela Rose pleated checked coated-poplin dress has me pining for long hot days and balmy nights. This Pre-Fall 2018 dress, which sees the designer swapping her signature floral prints for a Glen plaid pattern, was refined in profile with white pumps.

Premiere: A gown with a tulle skirt as frothy as this was made for a major film festival, so I’m not surprised that Olivia selected this J. Mendel Pre-Fall 2018 look. However, I feel like I would’ve loved this look more sans sheer overlay, with the pretty embroidery attributed to the bustier.

    Love the J.Mendel gown.

That first dress is so cute. Summery and delightful.
The second is not good. I agree, the sheer overlay should not be there. It would of been much prettier without it.

The J. Mendel is so dated, I feel like we have seen a variation of this so many times in the past. Not a good look.

I like that first dress, I’d wear it.. perfect for summer. The second does come off as dated and stuffy.

The blue is super cute. The gown looks very mother of the bride.

The first look works a charm. The second is sweet but I feels a bit uptight with those sleeves.

the first dress is cute. i agree about the second one. lose the overlay and have an embroidered bustier.

The J mendel is so matronly. And the silhouette is so dated. It’s a NO for me.

but if they got rid of the overlay and had the bustier embroidered it really would be a whole lot better and fresher.
