Aishwarya Rai Bachchan In Rami Kadi Couture – ‘Sink Or Swim (Le Grand Bain)’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere

After blowing us away at yesterday’s premiere, you may have thought: Can Aishwarya Rai Bachchan possibly do it again?

With this Rami Kadi Spring 2018 Couture design, I think that answer is a resounding ‘yes.’

The Indian beauty was ever-so-luminous at the ‘Sink Or Swim (Le Grand Bain)’ Cannes Film Festival premiere on Sunday (May 13), where she joined Isabelle Huppert, Jane Fonda, Araya A. Hargate, and Marion Cotillard.

I love how she went in a totally new style direction from her colourful extravaganza yesterday with this glittering, architectural column gown rendered in the prettiest and palest of minty hues.

The sweeping, embellished train behind her made it all the more ready for its Cannes close-up.

But, what really added dramatic impact was her sculptural updo, echoing the architectural gown’s mix of softness and strength.

Beautiful! Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is a classic. Really has the grace/presence of a true cinema star.

This looks as if she stapled or held an Armani Privé dress in front of a random ball gown. Not a terrible concept and she looks good even, just not as mind-blowing as it could’ve been/was (from her looks in past years).

I thought the same thing, at first glance I though it was an Armani Privé. Still I was intrigued by the look and think she executed it flawlessly.

Love the precise construction of the folds in the skirt. She looks great. The neckline reminds me a little of the gold Roberto Cavalli dress she wore at Cannes in 2014:

it’s hilarious to see everyone who firmly disliked yesterday’s is onboard for this. Well, everyone’s entitled to their own opinion.

It looks great but something about the hair is a bit off.
    Lack of the breathtaking drama.

This is still in Barbie-territory but still much more couture than yesterday’s look, the hair is a nice touch.

Love the hair. The dress has an intriguing look with its different fabrics. I love all this look. I still prefer yesterdays but they are both just great!

I like it neck up. Neck down is pure Barbie.

I am in the minority here but I did not enjoy her last look at all, but she looks elegant and every inch a movie star in this. BDOTW contender with this look.

    Gorgeous again, again …… & again…forever

YES! Aishwarya always brings it for Cannes. The hair is cray, but I kinda love it. Everything is perfection.

  15. Amanda F May 14, 2018 at 01:51 #

Come on!! This is a BDOTY contender for sure. Head to toe perfection. She is stunning.

Finally, I am so here for this looks. This is so much better than yesterday’s dress and she is killing it. I would change nothing. Perfection.

I totally agree. This is much better than her previous look. Love!

Wow her hair is a masterpiece, just like the dress. Another winning look. Subtle but dramatic. I love that she is not afraid to take risks.

  18. Reeva May 13, 2018 at 23:59 #

well, I actually said ‘WOW’ out loud, she looks like a goddess, no nitpicks with this fabulous look.

The look doesn’t have the same distinct power and not quite as special as her 1st one, but this is yet another beautifully done look for her – sharp fit and shape, and inspired styling.

Dare I say I love this more than yesterday’s look? Because I do!!

    • Caroline May 13, 2018 at 23:36 #

      Me too! Wonderful.

    • fromchi-town May 14, 2018 at 15:39 #

      Me too!

Big yes to the hairdo. I guess this trail was a last minute addition. The front of the gown is so Ralph & Russo (Priyanka at Oscars 2017) while the back looks like an Elie Saab. But then she works it beautifully. Hair is amazingly neatly done.
