Emily Deschanel In Max Azria - 2014 People’s Choice Awards

Emily Deschanel made a dramatic stand on the red carpet of the 40th annual People’s Choice Awards in Los Angeles on Wednesday night.

The ‘Bones’ star wore a geometric, pleated Max Azria gown with subtle black, white and dusty pink color-blocking.

I love the art deco nature of this gown, and think it was a fun but ladylike choice for the star.

Her Edie Parker clutch and Swarovski ring and earrings complete the Gatsby-esque style and are perfectly suited to the gown.

Her blue-tinged smokey eye adds additional drama to the look, while her simple chignon lets the makeup and styling remain center stage.

I’m actually not crazy about the eye makeup for this look–it seems something more simplistic would be better suited for the ensemble, but I do love the fashion choices.

Well I like it a lot. I think it’s one of her best overall looks. I think the dress is cool-that pink shadow is at the bottom of the dress as well, along with a sheer stripe. It’s really interesting. I also love the clutch and jewelry. There’s nothing wrong with well-coordinated or even matching accessories. The eye makeup, while nice, in theory, may be a bit heavy for her, though, I concede.

Ummm, no on the dress. The strange tonal border at the top looks like the cups of her bra are floating over the black. And a rule of thumb should be that unless you are either 80 years old or a waif – avoid crystal pleats.

Sad choice. The dress is not flattering–it actually makes her look dumpy. Great hair and makeup.

Sad and dumpy – the right words (I also dislike the eye makeup though).

    The dress is ugly

The skirt looks terrible, not a flattering dress. The clutch seems to be a case “oh, the dress has black pointed shapes, I have a clutch that has black pointed shapes!” Too much for me. I do find myself liking the close up tough, no problems with the make up.

I don’t think the dress is flattering.

I actually love her makeup and those earrings are to die for. The only thing that annoys me about this look is the intentional darker pink outline on top of her bust.

I agree on all points, the pink outline bothers me too but other than that I really like this look.

      I agree on all points.
