Celebrities Love…Crème de la Mer

The name literally means ‘cream of the sea’ and stars swear by its ability to renew and restore skin.

“I’ve become quite a La Mer devotee,” said Amy Adams in a Vogue interview. “I’ve tried other things, and I just keep coming back to it because it seems to repair the dryness in my skin”.

But with a starting price at £120, the actress added, “Sometimes I’ll use The Treatment lotion. It doesn’t always have to be the heavy cream”.

Charlize Theron says, “If it’s winter, or if I’m visiting a place that has a dry climate, this is all I use. It’s the only thing that keeps my skin moisturised,”.

Meanwhile, tennis icon Serena Williams says: “I’m forever putting this on my face”.

Rachel Brosnahan In ADEAM – 2018 Costume Designers Guild Awards

Rachel Brosnahan was back on the red carpet at the 2018 Costume Designers Guild Awards at The Beverly Hilton Hotel on Tuesday (February 20) in California, alongside Sarah Hyland, Kerry Washington and Sally Field.

‘The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’ actress wore a fresh-from-the-runway ADEAM Fall 2018 dress.

Some might perceive the style to be a tad too casual, especially given some of the other dramatic looks at the event. However, it’s a more casual affair so I think she gets away with it as the dogtooth style carries a sophisticated retro elegance.

The belt helps accent her waist and formalize the ensemble, but in turn the frock loses the softness from the runway.

Sarah Hyland In Carolina Herrera – 2018 Costume Designers Guild Awards

Sarah Hyland looked ready for spring at the 2018 Costume Designers Guild Awards at The Beverly Hilton Hotel on Tuesday (February 20) in California. She joined Kerry Washington and Sally Field.

The ‘Modern Family’ actress brought a brightness with her Carolina Herrera Pre-Fall 2018 gown.

The bodacious blue colour on its own would have had a strong impact, but the floral embroidery cascading across the bodice and skirt enlivened dress, making me anxious to see flowers in bloom.

With the sweeping pleated skirt, the look could have proved overwhelming on her petite frame, but the volume and floral detailing are just enough to be dramatic rather than suffocating.

Natalia Vodianova In Simone Rocha – Naked Heart Foundation’s Fabulous Fund Fair

Natalia Vodianova made a striking entrance at the Naked Heart Foundation’s Fabulous Fund Fair during London Fashion Week on Tuesday (February 20), alongside Doutzen Kroes.

The philanthropist, who founded the organization in 2004 to help underprivileged children and those with special needs in Russia, hosts the event every year and always wears red.

This time, she set the dress code alight with a Simone Rocha Fall 2018 ensemble with Messika jewels.

The trench dress cut a fashion-forward figure with the patent fabric creating a rich textural quality when the light hit it.

The gossamer white dress underneath increased the romance while adding a dynamic mix of textures.

The underlayer may have been ivory rather than red, but if anyone can slightly deviate from the dress code, it’s her, and she did it to the most marvelous effect.

Sally Field In Yanina Couture – 2018 Costume Designers Guild Awards

Sally Field joined Kerry Washington on the red carpet for the 2018 Costume Designers Guild Awards held at The Beverly Hilton Hotel on Tuesday (February 20) in California.

Looking ever so elegant and demure, the actress wore a Yanina Fall 2014 Couture gown.

My first thought was that I wished the laser cut details had also been black, but on reflection, I love how the detail enhances the silhouette, giving Sally a narrow waist.

Doutzen Kroes In Gareth Pugh – Naked Heart Foundation’s Fabulous Fund Fair

Doutzen Kroes attended the Naked Heart Foundation’s Fabulous Fund Fair during London Fashion Week on Tuesday (February 20).

Adhering to the red dress code, you’d expect the supermodel to attend in a silky silk dress, but she was a vision of fashion’s future wearing a Gareth Pugh Spring 2018 look.

The crinkled metallic red cowl-collared jumpsuit, purposely baggy in the leg, teamed with a matching trench coat takes Doutzen out of her comfort zone into a whole new realm of fashion fantasy.

But did she pull off the look for you?

While I had reserved many of the loosk from this collection for the likes of Lady Gaga, Halsey, Rihanna and even Beyonce, I do think this was a successful outing for Kroes, as the look feels neither comical or forced.
