Hayden Panettiere was the first person to showcase a Spring 2013 runway look on the red carpet at the 2012 Emmy Awards, held at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live on Sunday evening.
The petite blonde went with red-carpet favourite Marchesa for the occasion.
Giving us our first red-carpet peek at the designer’s Spring 2013 Bollywood-themed collection, Hayden looked lovely in a gold-embroidered gown with blue tulle overlay.
A voluminous topknot, unfortunately, adds a bit of unnecessary fuss to the look.
A sleek ‘do would have been much preferred.
A gold Judith Leiber clutch completed her look.

Too much fabric for the petite actress. She looks beautiful but the dress will look even more gorgeous on someone who can carry this dress.
This dress is amazing, but something is missing. Maybe it’s the hair, but looking at the model, maybe it’s just that she really needs earrings.
She’s a short girl and this dress isn’t doing her any favors.
Too busy. Trying to remember the last Marchesa gown I liked…
ding! ding! ding! they are really feeling themselves over at marchesa cuz just adding details isn’t design. think EDIT.
The hair is forgiven when the dress is gorgeous!
Such a pretty gown and Hayden wears it well. Gorgeous.
The gown skims her figure beautifully but I´m not sure it suits her persona.
personally i think the dress looks a mess on her.
The topknot doesn’t really bother me, she looks great.
I like it despite not being a Marchesa or tulle fan.
Topknot aside this look is perfect.
Marchesa isn’t the best at working with tulle, as many of their tulle creations have been lost-in-translation from the runway, but this works well.
She is not tall enough for this dress.
this dress would be great with a waist cinching belt
To paraphrase one of the interviewers – that is a lot of fabric. Too much fabric for little Hayden. I liked a lot of the bollywood collection, but this one feels like a beautiful gold dress hiding behind a lot of blue tulle.
I disagree about a belt, as I really love the Indian references in this collection, especially the way the sheer tulle creates body-emphasizing lines by itself without being a bandage dress. But she really needs to have a sleeker chignon, something like that, to make this work. The dress is elegant, and she’s not really giving it its due.
I’m not usually a fan of Hayden on the RC, but I love this dress. So beautiful, one of the best so far. The hair is wrong (a sleek French twist would have been great) but the dress is gorgeous.
the dress doesnt really work for her
I am saree I had to see that.
I really like this look on her. After years of watching her dress like she was 65 years old, this is a nice change of pace.
I don’t know what it is with Hayden that, even though most times I like what she is wearing, I don’t like it on her. Maybe she lacks the “I’m a Hollywood star” factor.
This is one my favorite pieces of the collection and I really hoped to see worn by somebody like Kate Beckinsale. I don’t want to be mean, but it’s too perfect for her. The hairstyle is so… useless. I’m disappointed.
I adore this dress. Seriously, I wanted to declare my undying love when I first saw it in the collection. While Hayden looks beautiful, I had wanted someone like Charlize Theron, Kate Beckinsale or Diane Kruger, someone with a bit more height and a bit more presence and grace, to wear it. She looks lovely, but this could have been a show-stopper… *sigh*
I’m not a fan of the Marchesa collection but I think she looks quite nice. The hair is fine to me.
I haven’t said this about a Marchesa creation in awhile but this dress is beautiful. I’m not sure I like it on Hayden though. I think the gown needs someone curvier to really come to life.
the Marchesa dress is indeed gorgeous. i agree with niki about the height factor.
I like the dress and I think Hayden looks great, hair included.
Gorgeous!
