Current cover girl, Kerry Washington, was honoured at the 5th Annual ESSENCE Black Women in Hollywood Luncheon held in Beverly Hills on Thursday.
Like Emma Stone, Kerry chose a winter-white ensemble for the event by wearing a Cushnie et Ochs Spring 2012 peplum skirt suit.
Thankfully, Kerry accessorizes her strong look with bright accessories, including cherry red Brian Atwood ‘Maniac’ heels and unique Kate Spade ‘Make Headlines Travel Edition Magazine Clutch’ clutch.
A bright red lippie finishes the look.

She made a valiant effort (love the clutch) but still looks like a nurse’s uniform to me albeit very 40′s retro. Her peplum doesn’t have the same pep as the runway.
Yes, I agree. It is rather like a nurses’s uniform but I do like her styling.
Not sure about this. The skirt suit is beautifully constructed and she looks great in it but the red lip AND the red shoe AND the red accent on the bag is a little too obvious and contrived for me.
I agree with Martin, plus the overall vibe is matronly despite it being a gorgeous suit on a sexy woman.

Love everything about this look. The only thing that bothers me is that the peplum isn’t as flared as it is on the runway but it’s a minor thing.
Not loving the hair

Agreed! The shoes do feel too heavy. This is a good look but could have been better. Something about the peplum is not quite right on Kerry – it’s amazing on the runway. I also think this look needs a different neckline to avoid that “nurse” look.

I don’t like this look. Like Martin said, the red lipstick along with the red pumps is too contrived, plus I really dislike that clutch. It may be supposed to look like a magazine, but I still don’t like the idea, as it looks nothing like a clutch to me.
