Tilda Swinton In Lanvin – Pomellato and W Magazine Private Dinner Party

As the face of Pomellato, British actress Tilda Swinton attended the Pomellato and W Magazine Private Dinner celebrating Sandro Kopp at the Lehmann Maupin Gallery late last month.

Like a chameleon, Tilda’s red carpet looks take many forms.

She can move seamlessly from avant-garde to minimalist to slightly bizarre with unwavering poise and class.

On this occasion she was truly sublime in Lanvin.

Her Spring 2012 look included a rose-beige long-sleeve body with articulated shoulders which she paired with a stone-grey high-waist pencil skirt.

Tilda’s choice of shoes can at times be questionable, but her beige Lanvin leather pumps are perfectly complementary.

A Lanvin snake-print ‘Golden Dream’ minaudiere from the Spring 2012 collection completed her look.

I love this look. I ranks very highly alongside her Golden Globes ensemble.

This is a very good look for her. Not my style but she really works minimalism!

I am obsessed with all things Tilda. She looks amazing.

She looks awesome, I love the colours!! It took me a while to warm up to Tilda’s style but I am definitely a huge fan now!!

I absolutely adore the idea, but I don’t think the execution matches it. It just looks off.

i agree. i’ve been begging for her to give us her version of over-the-top femininty — a la the couture trilogy from jil sander — but this just doesn’t do it for me. it’s a great look, no doubt, but it’s just not “TILDA!”

She should have been wearing this to the Oscar luncheon 🙁

Totally agree. She was completely and utterly robbed. Her performance in We Need To Talk About Kevin was one of the most devastatingly brilliant of the year, if not the best performance of 2011. Shame Academy, shame. I do, however, take solace from the fact that she is probably the only actress in the Hollywood system who is genuinely disinterested in seeking and gaining validation from the Academy. I can’t imagine that she has lost any sleep stressing about her snub this year.

Having said that, Tilda looks incredible in this Lanvin look. The lines are severe but there is a softness in the colour and fit of the top. Flawless, and definitely a best dressed of the week contender in my book.

    Tilda + minimalism = PERFECTION!

    Loooove her look here.

I think she looks great. I’m not the biggest fan of hers, but I quite like this one.

She looks insane. Because of her incredibleness in Haider Ackermann I always forget about how well she does a lanivn. Because of the serious followign it has, no matter hwo much I love lanvin sometimes it jsut doesn’t look fresh or looks gimmicky, because people are unable to carry it off, but not Tilda. The colour of the top really brings out her colouring.
    Sandro looks good, too.

i feel the same way about tilda in lanvin. as for the freshness of the brand, alber elbaz always stresses how the brand is not “young” or hip, which is why it suits tilda so much 😀

Love this look but I wish she had worn a bra…

me too,she needs it.not a biggest fan of hers, but I like this look very much.

Absolutely. Her girls are at her waist. Inexcusable. These celebs must be believing the hype, that they are goddesses that do not have to compensate for things we mere mortals worry about, like the effect of gravity. Too bad because otherwise I like the look.

This reminds me of Emma Stone’s Lanvin dress that she wore to the W Pre-Golden Globes party last month. I think Tilda is rocking this ensemble but I liked Emma’s dress more (especially the beaded Snake!). Of course they are different looks, but same color pallets.

BDOTW contender most definitely. She always looks regal regardless of what she’s wearing. This fits so well and colour of the top warms her well. I’m tres happy the pumps are neither heavy nor black.

    • mm February 9, 2012 at 12:53 #

      I agree!

  15. Alice February 8, 2012 at 22:13 #

does anyone know who the model is? She looks very familiar.

    • TeaAtTwo February 8, 2012 at 22:38 #

      Natasha Poly

    • e February 8, 2012 at 23:25 #

      The model is Natasha Poly.

    • Hannah February 9, 2012 at 00:01 #

The lanvin runway model is Natasha Poly she has been on many magazine covers and was featured on RCFA last year for her look (in Venice, was it?) in Gucci.

    • Juanita February 9, 2012 at 00:40 #

It’s the one and only: Natasha Poly.

    • JG February 9, 2012 at 01:44 #

      It’s Natasha Poly

    • Kennedy February 9, 2012 at 04:41 #

Idk if you heard but it’s Natasha Poly 😉 Lol
