Louisa Jacobson’s Conner Ives Look Has a Gilded Age Twist
Louisa Jacobson joined Rebecca Hall, Morgan Spector and Carrie Coon on the red carpet for the Season 4 premiere of HBO’s The Gilded Age in New York City, and yes, I spotted another nod to the series.

Her Conner Ives Spring 2027 look has a subtle connection to the series through the cropped jacket’s high collar, decorative buttons and riding-jacket silhouette, while the exposed midriff, printed scarf and low-slung waistband bring everything firmly into the present day.
Unlike Rebecca Hall and Morgan Spector’s Maison Margiela looks, the period reference isn’t immediately apparent, but that’s what I like about it. Louisa has taken a different approach, one that feels more like a modern take on historical tailoring than an attempt to dress for the series.
Conner Ives referenced an American Victorian-era jacket from 1895 when presenting his Spring 2027 collection, so there is some history behind the design of this look.
But even without the Gilded Age connection, I love this on Louisa. She has the height and presence to make this silhouette work, and there’s something appealing about how the look is understated yet still has an edge. In fact, this is exactly the kind of fashion I wish we would see more often from Elizabeth Debicki, who has a similarly statuesque frame.
