Julianne Moore Swaps Black for Cream at NYFF

Julianne Moore attended the premiere of The Debut during the 2026 New York Film Festival on Wednesday night.

The actress wore one of her go-to labels, Bottega Veneta, but surprisingly, not her go-to colour.

Julianne and black have become almost synonymous on the red carpet, so I love that she decided to brighten things up in this cream organza embroidered top and ivory silk trousers, complemented by matching Bottega Veneta Allegra pumps.

The volume and texture of the top immediately made me think of Tracee Ellis Ross, who would absolutely embrace a look like this. But it works just as well for Julianne, with the fluid trousers providing a lovely contrast to all that feather-like texture. It’s a refreshing change from the more streamlined silhouettes we’ve become accustomed to seeing Julianne wear.

Bottega Veneta Knot earrings completed the look, but I have to give special mention to her vibrant pink lipstick. Against the cream ensemble and her red hair, that pop of colour is exactly what this look needed. I’m so glad she didn’t play it safe with a nude lip.
