Caitríona Balfe Chooses McQueen for Her Dublin Return

Caitríona Balfe joined Daisy Edgar-Jones at the Irish premiere of Sense & Sensibility in Dublin, making this something of a homecoming for the Irish actress, who stars as Mrs Dashwood in the new adaptation.

After missing the London premiere while promoting Tenzing at the Toronto International Film Festival, Caitríona joined her co-star dressed in McQueen Fall 2026.

There’s a lot happening here, but the black tailoring tempers the more romantic elements – the ivory bow, chiffon and floral embroidery peeking beneath the skirt.

Draping the bow down the front rather than sweeping it dramatically to one side softens its impact, while reducing the exaggerated cuffs gives the tailoring a cleaner finish. And I’ll take the black pumps over the runway boots for the red carpet.

There’s another reason McQueen feels right for Dublin. Creative director Seán McGirr is Irish, making this a fitting choice for Caitríona’s home premiere.
