Teyana Taylor’s Feathered Moment at the MTV VMAs

Teyana Taylor attended the 2026 MTV VMAs on Sunday, where she was both a presenter and a nominee for Best Collaboration for Hard Part with Lucky Daye.

The singer-actress wore a sheer black coat-gown from Zuhair Murad’s Fall 2026 Couture collection, fully embroidered and finished with a feathered collar, cuffs and hem.

Do I love it? Yes. But if you had told me Teyana was attending the VMAs, I would have expected a little more drama. We know what she can deliver on a red carpet, and the VMAs are exactly the kind of event where she could have pushed things further.

Then again, perhaps I’m judging this against Teyana’s own very high bar. She has given us so many memorable red carpet moments that a beautiful Zuhair Murad Couture gown can somehow feel relatively restrained by her standards.

And it’s not as though this look fades into the background. Between the sheer embroidery, plunging neckline and feathers, there is still plenty happening here. It’s beautiful, it suits Teyana, and I love the two-bun hairstyle with it.

I just went into the VMAs expecting Teyana to give me a little more.
