Olandria Takes an Edgier Turn for Her MTV VMAs Return

Olandria returned to the MTV VMAs on Sunday, one year after her 2025 appearance marked a major moment in her red carpet fashion journey. The Love Island USA star was back for the 2026 ceremony in Los Angeles, but this time she switched lanes.

After the red sheer and satin Cheney Chan look she wore last year, Olandria opted for something considerably edgier, wearing the ManManSkins Crimson Thorn ceremonial corset bodysuit and mermaid skirt, crafted from cocoa-brown vegan leather. Steel boning creates the sculpted corset shape, while crimson ruffle-lace trims, extensive lacing and stainless-steel hardware give the look its distinctive finish.

This is MMS look is certainly an edgier direction for Olandria, but it feels right for the occasion. The VMAs have always allowed for more experimentation than the traditional awards season carpet, and I like that she embraced that rather than arriving in something we could just as easily see at any other event.

That has been one of the more interesting things about watching Olandria’s fashion journey develop: she dresses for where she is going. This look belongs at the VMAs, yet it doesn’t feel as though she has abandoned the glamour her fans love. The corseted silhouette and mermaid skirt keep that element intact while giving us another side of her style.

Considering how significant last year’s VMAs proved to be for Olandria, returning a year later with a look that takes another risk feels fitting.
