Samantha Morton Wore Maison Margiela To ‘The Odyssey’ New York Premiere
Samantha Morton joined her co-stars on the red carpet for the New York premiere of The Odyssey in New York City on Tuesday.
The British actress wore a look from the Maison Margiela Fall 2026 collection, and while I know this won’t be everyone’s cup of tea, I’m sold.
Some looks rely on personality as much as design, and Samantha has always had the kind of quiet confidence that allows unconventional fashion to feel authentic.
Maison Margiela’s oversized proportions, blanket-like draping and subtle geometric print create an almost monastic silhouette, yet the deep burgundy tones and fringed trim stop it from feeling austere.
The runway styling, complete with the house’s signature wrapped face, naturally shifted the focus entirely onto the garment. Samantha’s interpretation felt far more approachable, allowing the craftsmanship to speak for itself.
I suspect it will divide opinion, but that’s often the nature of Maison Margiela. Some might feel she looks as though she’s wearing a costume. For me, it felt completely in keeping with her individual style, making this one of those rare occasions where both the actress and the clothes were perfectly matched.
Stylist: Karen Clarkson.
